New edition of 13th Age just dropped, which is my favorite iteration OGL d20 fantasy. As with everything that Pelgrane Press publishes, it is incredibly gorgeous. I’m very excited to read it and put it away on my shame shelf without ever playing it… 😞

Safety tools are so important. Over the past few years, I’ve started using Lines & Veils and The X-Card when I GM, and I find both help me keep the story more focused and comfortable for everyone involved. Excellent guardrails to keep everyone in a space where they’ll have fun.
I know people get freaked out when we compare TTRPGs and kink play but there really is a lot of overlap. A Game Master is often a person in a position of authority over the players and their job is to "hurt" and "reward" PCs. There's also a lot of trust and emotion between the player and the GM.
