In 1940, Congress transferred most all of the Choctawhatchee N.F. to the War Department.
Today the land is home to Eglin Air Force Base.

What are the “lavish fish studies” the U.S. government is supposedly wasting dollars on? Maybe doge thinks that people are bedazzling fish? Or maybe it’s the critical efforts by USFWS and USGS to monitor invasive and endangered species in communities we all rely on? Any insight @altfws.altgov.info ?
