It's remarkable how frustrated -- like toddler-level frustrated -- these guys are that people aren't just terrified of them. THEY live in a world where bullying and force reigns supreme, and others not just folding genuinely confuses them.
it's incredible how if you put this entire dialog into the Left Behind series, it would basically work, but instead it's just IRL MN

The Little Engine That Could Maybe and it’s about edging
Ok which of you perverts has made a porn parody of the little engine that could
When works become public domain, anyone can reimagine and reuse them.

🚂 The Little Engine That Could can be freely reinterpreted—like this video marrying pages of the 1930 book to a Librivox audio recording. 📚+🎤

the best antidote to blackpilling is remembering that every video you see of an ICE thug abusing their power was recorded by an American who volunteered to put themselves in harm's way for the sake of people they've likely never met and never will
/2 In light of that, I am in awe and deep respect of the people who are still showing up to monitor the ICE Gestapo, protect and defend their neighbors, do whatever they can to hold ICE to account and call out their lawlessness. What incredible bravery.

I think, every so often, about how the student protesters in South Korea figured out there was a finite supply of tear gas, and then staged retreating marches that caused police to burn off most of it, before the big "bring your auntie and kids" marches that ultimately toppled the dictatorship.

The sheer number of videos of the shooting is horrific, but in the vein of what @prisonculture.bsky.social has been saying, it proves how many people cared enough to show up where ICE was and record them. It wasn't just one or two legal observers, and when Good was shot, they didn't abandon her.

Totally. Unfortunately "motivated by oil" and "actually the oil case doesn't even totally add up" and "also motivated by a weird coalition (anti-socialism crusading/special ops fetishism/anti-migration zealotry)" and "reckless" and "illegal" and "bad precedent" can all be true at once.
Terrible face aside this is an important point I think, removing Maduro was, like Iraq, a logroll that lots of advisers supported for different reasons.
"One of the similarities this has with the Iraq War is that there were a lot of people [Rubio, Trump, Miller, Hegseth] who supported it for a lot of different reasons. Everybody can kind of find their reason and get on board," says @profsaunders.bsky.social.

Grok can't apologize. Grok can, when prompted, generate a word sequence that is statistically similar to the colloquial phrases we think of as "apologies," but Grok cannot actually apologize because Grok isn't sentient. But we all have a lot of trouble with this because we assume sentience IS speech

I hate these charts so much because they imply chatgpt is comparable to the internet or phones

You could create the same graphic for full screen pop-up advertising on websites and make them look like ultra-rapid technology adoption when really they were just baked unavoidably into the internet
In 2025, AI became pervasive in American life and the economy, with ChatGPT surging in adoption much faster than any other major technology in memory. @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Me: "Sorry, what was your name again?"

Her: "Deanna. Like in Star Trek."

Me: "Do you always explain your name in terms of Star Trek or does something about me just scream 'Trekkie'?"

Her: "No, I guess I'm selective. Sorry, do you not know who I'm talking about?"

Me: "Troi."

Her: "See?"
