"While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China was building five nuclear reactors," says Kemi Badenoch.

I cannot be the only person curious about how these two things are related

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.
There's a huge BUT coming ...🧵

Jenrick's argument that he's talking about 'integration' rather than skin colour is patently absurd and @stephenkb.bsky.social does a great job of spelling that our here.
Also love the comment about pathogenesis.

The notion that Bari will be "running CBS News" is slightly misleading. What the reporting suggests is that Tom Cibrowski, a guy with normal qualifications, will be doing that. Bari will be Emperor Ellison's Vader-esque enforcer, outside the chain of command, intervening at will.

JFC the man has not one ounce of shame in him.

He went to private school and Cambridge. He owns three homes and rents a fourth!

I know plenty of politicians 'working classify' their backgrounds, but this from Jenrick is taking the piss.

His father's linked in is here: uk.linkedin.com/in/bill-jenr...

He was a managing accountant who ended up as the Managing Director of Cannon Industries

Stirring hate and outrage, endangering people.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Anyone who knows anything about ME/CFS and the harm that was done to people by the move to psychologize it will know this is extremely worrying.

Managed to get a good skin to filling ratio this year. Fam doesn't liked salted egg yolks in their moon cakes though 🤷‍♀️

Agree.
The online version, which reads: "Partisan Shutdown Messages Could Hurt Civil Service, Experts Warn", though not exactly strong, is nonetheless better.

Great point: "Polarisation may be an unhelpful term for what is happening in both US and UK politics. It implies that both sides are becoming equally extreme. Arguably the real dynamic is that elements of the right have hardened, embracing positions that would have been unacceptable a decade ago."

They've edited it to take out husband's name but still describes her as married with two children before her professional accomplishments.
Screenshot of Sky News Headline and standfirst, reads:
Woman named as new Archbishop of Canterbury in historic first (in big headline type), followed by:

Sarah Mullally, 63-year-old archbishop-designate is married with has two children. Originally from Woking in Surrey, she was the UK's chief nursing officer from 1999 to 2004.

So interesting that GB News is sticking with female archbishop story longer than BBC/Sky, going through her tweets live on air, starting to cancel her for being woke.

They keep talking about the Christian public taking it badly, fits with the growing US-style religious vibe of the British right?

Student journalist Lucas Griffith faces trial today for covering a protest against the deportation of Ayman Soliman, who himself fled persecution for his journalism in Egypt.

Lucas did nothing wrong. This is a big deal and would be national news in normal times.
On trial for journalism in Kentucky.
Two months after their arrests while covering a protest, a pair of local reporters face criminal charges.
