how dare they imply that Starfleet (ONE WORD NOT TWO) has its headquarters in San Francisco because in the 21st century it was the capital of AI

Starfleet has its headquarters in San Francisco because space is gay

everybody knows that

i did not try cooking, because my shower, followed by a long phone call with a health care provider, had me wiped out.

this happens. it's my reality. and it sucks.

This is an app called Visible, for folks who have energy-limiting chronic illness. You track your symptoms, it takes readings of your heart rate & gives you a daily "score" based on everything. This can help you plan your energy expenditure.

Today I might try cooking!

I've been away from here for 9 months because I've been too sick to manage social media the way I used to. I feel like I'm slowly, slowly turning a corner now after so much learning (how to navigate/mitigate symptoms) & starting some new meds. Cautiously coming back. Hope y'all are good.

last night, after a long day with WAY TOO MUCH STIMULI, the check engine light came on in my car.

my 1st thought was "ack, 💸".

my 2nd thought was, "ooh if it's in the shop for the weekend i don't have to go anywhere!"

🙋‍♀️I consider abortion a good option, and a social good writ large! Pregnancy is not a punishment for contraceptive failure or contraceptive lack or contraceptive refusal.

I am pro-abortion, period. Same as I'm pro-chemotherapy, pro-insulin, pro-root canal, pro-pap-smear.

A lot of my academic work lately has been around how traditional narratives don't suit stories about illness. Especially chronic illness which doesn't follow a incident-quest-resolution arc. 1/5

Work from home was a boon to productive workers and an absolute catastrophe for the group of middle managers and executives who make their living putting their names on other people's work and that latter group started to undermine it as soon as they realized this.
I do not understand why, after remote work has been repeatedly proven to be just as productive (if not more so) than in-office work, people should be required to return to in-office work in order to justify the money the bosses spent on real estate.
Demanding that people go back to the office five days a week has been shown to punish staff who are lower-income, parents, and disabled. It is also not necessary for reporters and journalists who do much of their work in the field, on the phone, or on laptop computers that can be used anywhere.

what type of eye doc do you see? the kind that has a proper office with a few racks of frames near the exit, or the type that's basically a huge frames store with a doctor shoved in a closet in the back.
