Regardless of the election outcome, this is a foghorn for anyone still on Twitter, especially politicians & government organizations, to get off of there immediately. How can anyone keep pretending to themselves it's some sort of "public square" ? [Sidenote: this sounds like God's worst watch party]
Elon Musk plans to spend election night with Donald Trump, giving the former president direct access to the person controlling X, a key information platform, on what could be a chaotic evening.
Musk to Spend Election Night With Trump at Mar-a-Lago
Elon Musk has spent $119 million on a super PAC supporting Donald Trump and held events on his behalf. But his ownership of X is especially valuable.

The Kamala Harris town hall was fine. She’s more than capable. Vote against the fascist, for god’s sake. The end.

Completely agree.
Unpopular take on this platform, but I think it's good that Kamala Harris is making a targeted pitch to anti-Trump Republicans and former Republicans. She's made no concessions and is trying to win a general election. Swing voters were key for Biden in 2020. I don't see any downside.

The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Growing up in a conservative Catholic family, I was told--you won't need abortion if you just make "good choices." But sometimes abortion is the "good choice" that makes all the other choices possible. So, I was deeply grateful to hear Kamala Harris acknowledge that reality last night.

"Thelma" (2024) is exactly the kind of incredibly enjoyable, low-stakes movie we all have been asking for. This movie is so sweet and charming and thoughtful. A delight.

I understand how juicy the “is Biden too old?” story is for The New York Times and the Washington Post but there’s also the story that one political party is promising to end democracy. They might want to write some more stories about that.
