israel bombed synagogues in Iraq, paid the Morroccan king per person to implant settlers into Palestine and in Algeria they chose their french identity over their Algerian after the liberation. There was never a comprehensive ethnic cleansing campaign of jews in the MENA region. That is a lie.

Americans, your tax dollars at work 😡

And AGAIN, the Algerian boxer this Republican is yelling about is Imane Khelif, a tough cisgender woman cleared to compete by the IOC. Following her win, she stated “I’m a woman like any other woman. I was born a woman, I lived a woman, I competed as a woman.”
House Republicans are having a normal one while being laser focused on the big issues facing the American people this afternoon

“If so-called ‘so-called poststructuralism’ is the product of a single historical moment, then that moment is probably not May 1968 but rather the Algerian War of Independence.”

She also (alongside other infamous bigots) launched a defamatory hate campaign against Imane Khelife - an Algerian boxer - during the olympics to the point that Khelife was entitled to take legal action.

It would be a big ask for the Algerian, having played just 34 minutes this term due to injury. I think stylistically he is the most similar player to Grgic in the squad; slightly immobile & unable to be an effective defender of counter attacks, though a metronomic ball player.

Do you know the Revista Panenka? They do such good work. It’s in Spanish, so obv not accessible to all. Their latest issue was a special on Zidane and dove into how he essentially had to play down his Algerian roots & never talk about being Muslim, tho by Benzema’s time, things had evolved “some.”

Polisario Front urged to accept Moroccan sovereignty by US
US President Donald Trump has urged the Algerian-backed Polisario Front to accept Moroccan sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara territory, as reported by Maghrebi Week on February 2nd. The Polisario Front continues to reject the widely supported Moroccan Autonomy Plan, or Resolution 2797, which would grant the Western Sahara and its inhabitants limited self-governance under Moroccan sovereignty, bringing an end to the territorial dispute that has persisted since 1975.

1/2 My point is that had the 🇨🇦s not seen the 🇩🇿s running (and dying) from the gas, they'd have had no time to react. Hard to yell , "Piss in your hankies" when your lungs are full of gas. The Algerian sacrifice enabled the 🇨🇦 stand. Had the 🇨🇦 been in the 1st line, I doubt they'd have fared as well.

Algeria inaugurates strategic railway to giant Sahara mine
The Gara Djebilet mine is projected to produce up to 50 million tonnes of iron ore annually, driving Algeria’s push to diversify its economy beyond hydrocarbons Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday inaugurated a nearly 1,000-kilometre (621-mile) desert railway to transport iron ore from a giant mine, a project he called one of the biggest in the country's history. The line will bring iron ore from the Gara Djebilet deposit in the south to the city of Bechar located 950 kilometres north, to be taken to a steel production plant near Oran further north.

Yes, the Algerian troops took the first hit of the chlorine gas and retreated as best they could. As for taking the brunt, one must keep in mind the fact that none of the allied units had masks or respirators of any kind. The Algerian retreat left a gaping 6.5km gap in the salient; Cdns plugged it.

The Algerian War
Introduction: Algeria Before the War Algeria was not, in the eyes of the French, a distant colony in the traditional sense. After France invaded and captured Algiers in 1830, Algeria was gradually annexed and organised into French départements - meaning France treated it legally as part of the country itself, not merely an overseas possession. Over decades, European settlers…
