Happy Birthday to Frederick Douglass who didn’t know his birthday because he was born into slavery so he chose February 14 as his birthday.

I'm Asian American. Nazi shit and racist shit and misogynist shit freaks me out because I stand in solidarity with everyone else who's a target of bigotry in this country. So yes, Platner alarms the hell out of me. I wish he alarmed the hell out of the New Republic.

does this shitbag even know how many black, latino, asian, indigenous, and jewish americans have died fighting for the elusive ideal of american equality and freedom
We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

Are “alien land laws” threatening Asian American communities?

Donna Doan Anderson and Joanna YangQing Derman argue states are reviving discriminatory land use policies targeting Asian communities, reinforcing racial profiling in the name of national security.

Alien-ating Asians in 21st-Century Land Laws
“Alien land laws” frame Asian land ownership as a national security threat, echoing the United States’ historical exclusionary policies.

1000% and to put a finer point on it, a number of Latin and Asian American voters made a bad vote in 2024, and I’m keenly interested in getting every one of them we can. They don’t need my ass telling them it was dumb, just get em over here!
I also think there are chunks of Trump voters who are 1st or 2nd generation Americans and thought they were in a club that they weren’t. Had a real “‘the enemy’ is us” moment. It’s fine if you want to dunk on them, the internet is free, but: it’s not worth dismissing the momentum.
I think most Americans assume that there IS a legal path to citizenship that a lot of undocumented people simply don’t want to go through, and I think now people are discovering that there isn’t! And they think there should be.

I wonder if he realizes American Tesla simps are disproportionately Asian
"American culture, with its English-Scotts-Irish origin, is great and worth fighting for."

Has he not heard any American popular music?

Mind you that Musk is also multicultural himself??? He is literally American-Asian-African, by his own definition he'd be booted off his dream ethnostate.

And African. And Asian. I read these “Best of” compilations, and the stories are usually North American and British, and that’s it. I hunger for some Inuit horror. Some Croatian horror. Some Iranian horror. Some Oaxacan horror.
We have Best of American SFF, Best of Canadian SFF, Best of British SFF. I wish so badly that editors take up the task of editing an yearly Best of Latin American SFF as well. It would be great!

I feel especially irritated since she's an Asian artist and this kind of behavior is distinctly entitled and rude American behavior — almost stereotypically so. It's so embarrassing.

Some of the people who served and died defending a "multicultural economic zone";

Musk, a goddamn spineless coward who could never aspire to even an nth of their bravery, dishonors their memory.

Weird how all those Black, Mexican, Asian, Italian, Jewish, Polish American soldiers died defending America in WWII.

Also, since I mentioned it while talking to an oomf

I do want to say that yes I do have Asian & Asian American relatives. My own immediately family is comedically white, but my uncle (my mom's younger brother) married my Aunt, who is Taiwanese. Both my cousins on that side are asian-american.

Sorry that Red Bamboo—owned and operated by a queer Asian American woman, Jade Wong—is closing after 24 years. Located in the Village at 140 W 4th St, down the street from the W 4th St subway station and near Washington Square Park, Red Bamboo served Asian-fusion vegan comfort food. #PlantBased #NYC

I don’t mean to sound like a quack or say anything that could be misinterpreted, but I feel very strongly that if the science, technology, experience, culture, etc. of Asian and Native American cultures were able to have congregated without Anglo-Saxon influence, we would be living in utopia.

Yeah, let's stop buying massive American style firetrucks & then designing our roads around those. European & Asian cities somehow make it work with much more compact trucks that don't require huge corner radii & wide lanes.

Cool to see a Cantonese Thunder reporter teaching Chet a few Cantonese sayings, as a Cantonese speaking Asian American. My dad had a few phrases he yelled at Rick Pitino that can't be broadcasted for sure.

Neat that women's half-pipe snowboarding is lots of Asian and Asian-American athletes.

Very honored to receive the Public Service Leadership Award from the Asian American Business Development center in conjunction with the America 250 Commission. And I got to see a great lion dance, too.

As an Asian-American furry, I've been the target of false accusations and bullying by fellow artists. I feel very isolated sometimes. It's a rarity for me to find any PoC furries since the space feels widely white-dominated.

IU is already considerably less Black and Latino than the state as a whole. The administration is still not satisfied.

Asian Americans grow up with the same shame as mainland Filipinos do, who grow up hiding their accents because it's cringe if their English doesn't sound American enough 🫠
