#Atomiswave
MVSとHN64とAtomiswaveは偽物が出回る前にだいたいコンプしてるはず。AESはそこそこ。

I mistakenly call it the SEGA Atomiswave in the alt text! It was originally made by Sammy!

the atomiswave board and cart also goes hard, to this day

Doesn't atomiswave stuff work in Flycast? I def played Dolphin Blue for an event a few years ago with no issues & I'm usually an idiot with such things

afaik these aren't really ports & are just the emulator + rom / ISO or w/e on a disc with a box

I’ve played a lot of the Atomiswave conversions, they’re all identical to the arcade versions with some extra slowdown and loading iirc. Dolphin Blue’s probably my favorite

Also found out that there's Atomiswave ports of Hokuto no Ken and Dolphin Blue on the Dreamcast.

I wonder then if the HnK Atomiswave port has the different Juda stuff like the PS2 version?

Huge either way, regardless.

Getting Atomiswave games to run on PC is tough so I'll gladly take this.

The atomiswave ports are so fun. Having them alone makes this all worth it

cfj (left) and ngbc (right) even have a similar release window, and both were tossed together for an arcade dreamcast variant (naomi; atomiswave)

and neowave—well, it's in the title

kof2k1 being mvs of course, but the dreamcast port is the definitive edition, fleshed out with a bunch of fixes

How exactly can you be Faster Than Speed? If you're going fast, aren't you...speeding?

Still, pretty decent Atomiswave game.

Cheaping out & combining my #ScanlineSunday with my #RandomGameSaturday & going with the best Atomiswave port to have it the Dreamcast a few years back! Dolphin Blue

The tragedy here is AC was when ASW switched to the NAOMI away from the Atomiswave so there's no Dreamcast version of it.

Yeah, NAOMI and Dreamcast are essentially identical twin siblings. NAOMI 2, fraternal twins. Atomiswave, half-sibling at best, first cousin at worst.

not a bad idea but I have mostly been playing naomi & atomiswave on top of taito spinner games
October 21, 2025 at 8:01 PM
my honest recommendation is check out the ps2 ports, if they exist, as they often run a little better on that. failing that, i'm almost certain the atomiswave itself was cracked for emulation awhile back.
October 15, 2025 at 7:49 PM
yep! it was the last hardware developed within Sammy before they acquired Sega and merged a couple years later. which is really ironic given the Atomiswave is, essentially, a souped up NAOMI system (which is part of why a lot of its games backport to the Dreamcast really easily)
October 15, 2025 at 7:41 PM
TIL that Atomiswave was a thing and many of it's games have been ported to Dreamcast!
October 15, 2025 at 5:01 PM
wild they were almost single handedly supporting the atomiswave hardware when even sega kind of wanted to wash their hands of it, in that era.
October 15, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Oh yeah more than Dreamcast games. I get it now and yeah would love to play Neowave and XI again Atomiswave game wise and good that Fightcade gives online gaming access to them.
October 6, 2025 at 6:45 AM
Sorry, I should've specified Flycast Dojo since that's what Fightcade uses for Atomiswave games
October 6, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Genuinely would be nice if more companies were as active as SNK is at reissuing older games. (Also if SNK were that active for their Hyper Neo Geo and Atomiswave output)
September 30, 2025 at 1:46 PM
It's so far the only major classic Neo Geo thing SNK should do because I feel they've done enough re-releases of games from that system and should start re-releasing their other arcade games they made for other hardware, like the Hyper Neo Geo 64 and Atomiswave.
