I've been really neglecting my film watching in the last few years. Thinking of trying to go through a good chunk of BFI's Greatest Films of All Time list next year to rectify that; maybe even rewatching some I've already seen but ages ago. Lists are good, innit.

Lots to look forward to in the BFI’s programme for 2026, including seasons on David Lynch, Brazilian cinema, Marilyn Monroe and trains on film.

Scorsese's perspective really helps me look at Latitude Zero (1969) in a whole new way. I really appreciate why Latitude Zero is BFI's #1 film of all time. #DriveInMob

Thanks! Yes, the BFI’s Visconti season (in January) had a big influence here. And I sought out lots of Japanese films, particularly those by Naruse.

WOMAN IN THE DUNES was a knockout, and I’m so glad I was able to catch it at the Prince Charles!

All in all, I possess 3 editions of The Devils - the above, which is currently the best looking bootleg so far, BFI's cut DVD release from 2012, & the real McCoy thanks to a contact at WB who sneaked me a copy to disc. This 2004 restoration has sat on a shelf for just over 20 years now!

Another banger from the BFI’s Too Much: Melodrma on Film season boxd.it/c24r1R this has worked as a great reminder that I need to watch more Fassbinder films - I am always in the mood to watch films that somehow manage to be just as high camp as they are depressing. Incredible stuff.
