I really wish my doctors office would get it's shit together or at least don't act like it's weird to change how they are doing checkins for vacations. They did it completely different than last time and the check in lady acted like I was dumb for being confused.

I've updated the OAuth permission scopes for @dropanchor.app to only ask for permissions to write blobs and Anchor specific lexicon, plus we need permission to read/delete community address lexicon for a while until all checkins are migrated to the new checkin lexicon (migration happens on login)

Doing this for my old Swarm checkins right now. Sadly do not have all the data from since Foursquare started, and I haven't used it much the past years, but it does go back to 2013. so cool little bit of personal history.

If you happen to have a Foursquare/Swarm checkout lying around somewhere you can now take those checkins and publish them on #atproto as Anchor checkin records. I made a little Golang cli app that should make it super easy (and takes rate limits into account) tangled.org/tijs.org/fsq...

In one of those 'you can just build it' moments @dropanchor.app now support @beaconbits.app checkins on your feed. All your beacons will be shown in your anchor feed (marked with the bb logo) and link back to the original checkin on beacon bits. Enjoy!

After all, students can misuse AI to generate a writing product, but they can not generate a writing process.

I use 5amWritersClub checkins for accountability. Sometimes it's just a few sentences, but it's more than I might do if I didn't have to justify my daily message.

For example, men have longer life expectancy when they're married to women & more social life when they do. On average, USA men don't know how to keep a good friend circle or remember the holidays/birthday checkins with their extended families when they're not married. And they dont go to the doctor

I'm not even angry, or surprised you did zero playtesting or community checkins before or after launching to a new platform. This is just, par for the course for any dev that makes money in 2025. You'll never see this, even if you did, you don't care. But it makes me feel better to have expressed it

honestly i have been thinking about this too, i have had countless checkins with myself how im doing with the mechsplo stuff and the commnuity and i have had to change a lot to not burn myself out.
