My husband and were there many years ago when following Plácido Domingo around Europe, for we'd learned he'd perform Tosca (in a new modern version). Happily he didn't like the version, and we saw/heard him sing La Bohème, which was Chic's favourite !

So am I— but we also have examples like Chic’s “Le Freak” and Missy Elliott’s “Getcha’ Freak On” (e.g.), so I can see that the children could have gotten to that usage… I don’t CARE for it, but I get it!

Correction: saw Bernie Worrell with Talking Heads in 1980 and 1983. I also saw TH in 1982, but at that gig CHIC's Raymond Jones was the keyboard player. #AT40
