I trust my gp with my medical info. My gp asks me to sign T&Cs for some software tool they're using. Doesn't that imply that my dr. cannot trust that app on my behalf?

If my dr. cannot trust you, then how can I?

And so the enshittification continues.

Can we agree yet on the idea that open-endedly arguing for smaller government is just wrong?

There _is_ a role for government. And that means that government from time to time use different (more eficient?) tools than "markets"
The same public servants who created the rules for the ‘market’ for aged care, child care, disability care and water in the Murray River are now pretending they will do a good job of making a ‘market’ for biodiversity…what could go wrong

Something I've really noticed among institutional "responses" to generative technologies is that "DO NOT USE THIS TOOL, IT'S COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE" is fudamentally erased from any possibility of ever being an option

Often paired with fatalist stuff like "this isn't going away"

This is the kind of outcome the National Electricity Market, combined with smart meters and retail competition, was supposed to deliver. Instead, the government has had to impose it. Yet another patch on a failed system #auspol
Australian households to get free electricity three hours a day
Saying there is enough solar power for everyone in the daytime, the federal government will direct retailers to provide three hours of free power every day to consumers.
