Yep, was aware, also of the good churchyard benches, for a quick stop... Around 10km away in Sutton Courtenay is the resting place of another author, of one of the most iconic and influential books in modern history, Eric Blair (George Orwell). Nice 360 view from the summit of Cholsey mountain...

Apparently only the Bible and Shakespeare have sold more book copies than Agatha Christie (Mallowan) who lies here in Cholsey. Cafe was closed in Wallingford, so spent my coffee money on some Brighton blue cheese from Abingdon market square... 😁 #Oxfordshire #AgathaChristie

Never seen one off there before. Unlike the bottom of Farm Hill/Cholsey Hill!

I knew it! I was worried you'd think me a grumpy old cynic 😉😆

It's 5 years since @portaspeciosa.bsky.social rescued this poor woman from being oppressed by carpet in Cholsey.

Though churches are not museums, it does make my toes curl to see historic artefacts given this treatment.

Amo. Estuve hace quince años en su tumba en la iglesia de St Mary en Cholsey. Oxfordshire es un lugar maravilloso en el que entiendes todas sus novelas.

Aún debe de estar toda la colección de editorial molino en casa de mamá.

It's Cholsey, I've just checked Google maps and it looks like the council has given up, it's resolutely "Papist Way" until it crosses the Reading Road and then it's Ferry Lane.

50 years ago today, Agatha Mallowan, better known as Agatha Christie, was buried in the graveyard at St Mary's, Cholsey. The register recording the burial is now held by us. This autumn we will be holding an exhibition celebrating this renowned author and local resident.

Great restoration job on the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway's Esso tanker by our friends at Grundon Recycling - thank you!

That looks more like the BBC app, the colours are similar to their BBC weather website. Met Office Forecast for Wallingford last night was for -5, we got -6 in Cholsey (always cooler than W'ford) and RAF Benson was - 9 , but it's in a frost hollow.

Dumped rubbish. 😡 There was a lot of this, as well as general litter. 😞

Stopped on the bridge at Streatley for a snap.

Demolished road sign on the north side of Farm Hill, near #Cholsey.

An (almost) marathon hike today with my daughter. Starting at Cholsey we made our way along the Thames to pick up the Ridgeway. The river was not where it was supposed to be. Flooded in places. Not easy!

Great, I will be at Cholsey Station to greet it at 2358!
When I was working at Heathrow in the 70s, there was always a flight plan similar to this. He gets around does Santa!

What an amazing legacy from the Cholsey Springline project! Glad to have been there for the unveiling and to talk to people about Berkshire #moths from the project's events. Huge congratulations to @clairecarvell.bsky.social @annadillon.bsky.social + Becky, Vicky & everyone else who made it happen
So thrilled to witness this 10 metre long artwork by Anna Dillon and Becky Carrozza at the launch of the Springline Project. Absolutely mesmerising artwork of the very highest standard. Proud to have been involved and also to have pulled the sheet off!
