I'm consolidating two pensions into one at the same provider and I am so glad that the nice person I spoke to warned me that during the transfer process the big pension with all the money in it would disappear off the screen and I'd be looking at one pension with one month's contributions in it. 😅

Just had to have the "don't shorten my name, I hate it," chat with a new colleague.
He's still breathing though. Personal growth, I'm proud of me.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Any England cricket fans at a loose end in Perth on Monday? My team, The Forty Club, are on tour and are playing at Scarborough Cricket Club.

Could Aussie followers please amplify? Thanks

Excellent work on the #SundayPix, Sundaypixies. I can't possibly repost them all so do check out the #SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack hashtag.

#SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack hidden away among a housing estate off a busy road, behind what used to be an industrial school and then a hospital, is a tiny park, with a lake.

Apologising would require him to acknowledge that he had been wrong.
Boris Johnson didn't apologise to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, even when she told him in person the lasting impact his comments about her had on her detention in Iran, her husband tells the BBC

I love this old rail bridge near me which crossed an old farm track. The line and colliery it served are long gone.
Few seem to know it's there and fewer. It's a lovely quiet corner of Tyneside

Just realised that, brilliantly, my pinned tweet for ages has been for the exclusive edition of Pagans that sold out some time ago, so here's a link to the other one. www.waterstones.com/book/pagans/...

This isn't just an excellent piece of transport analysis. It's a love letter. Who could write so thoroughly and thoughtfully other than someone who loves the place they live in, the place they move around, and loves the people they travel alongside? Would that all politicians involved could match it
I really cannot recommend this excellent piece on Hammersmith Bridge highly enough
