#Cox's
Thank you so much for your reporting on this. For those of you who haven’t seen it here is Ms. Cox’s excellent essay from yesterday:
The Key to Minneapolis’s Successful ICE Resistance
The city’s rapid mobilization against ICE was aided greatly by a community with well-worn connections and a tradition of mutual aid. You can—and should—start building this resilience where you live.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox’s State of the State speech this year had hints of policy, while again focusing on building. But what needs built most now, Cox emphasized, is “moral infrastructure.” #utpol

There's a scene in Scrubs where Carla explains to Elliott that if she wants Dr Cox's help, he has no sympathy so she needs to flatter him and stroke his ego.

When Elliott points out that he's heard their conversation, Carla explains it won't make a difference.

Anyway.
There are many surreal things about Donald Trump suddenly turning geopolitics into influencer drama by publishing world leaders’ DMs – but one standout is Trump truly doesn’t understand flattery might be insincere or tactical. It just works on him. He’s that easy.

.. but let's not forget - when the military junta in Mynamar was allowed to force nearly 1 million Rohingya from their homes into Cox's Bazaar with no response from the world all bets were off, and the floodgates opened.
All the Western leaders waxing lyrical about the International Rules Based Order have allowed this to happen contrary to --- checks notes --- the International Rules Based Order.
Death in Gaza isn’t limited only to drones, gunfire, artillery shelling, infectious diseases, or the grinding famine. It can come, too, from the very act of eating, after a prolonged period of starvation. Malnutrition has already claimed hundreds of lives, yet in Gaza, even food can kill.

It is a thing tho, on Hannibal, I never could see Mikkelsen's as **anything** other than menacing, predatory, malevolent.

But I can see Hopkins and Cox's versions being able to
appear "kind" or "normal"

It’s the film that killed director Alex Cox’s chances at a mainstream career, but what a way to go.

Starring Ed Harris, Richard Masur, René Auberjonois, Peter Boyle, Miguel Sandoval, and Marlee Matlin. Written by Rudy Wurlitzer. Directed by Alex Cox. Music by Joe Strummer.

We maybe all feel there was a tipping point when we failed to stop rising harm against people serving the public: for me it was when the referendum was not postponed after Jo Cox’s murder. But there’ve been many other bad moments of change - and now here we are www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Valar Atomics (founded by Isaiah Taylor) is one of the companies building a nuclear reactor for this project with a July 4 deadline. Valar is backed by Day One Ventures, which was founded by Masha Bucher (Drokova), a Russian-born investor living in the US who represented Jeffrey Epstein. 1/

In today's Observer: more revelations around Tom Cox's bestseller 'The Salt Bin' including the fact that it wasn't really a bin, just a sort of "tub", and had no salt in it.

"I am consulting my legal team," Cox says. "Also, it was a fucking novella. It's not my fault if people read it as a memoir."
“You write books? For a living? Are they published?”

“No. I generally just sit on top of salt bins in town centres and bark paragraphs from them at strangers. If someone particularly enjoys a metaphor or adjective they sometimes throw me a coin or two. You’d be surprised at the way it mounts up.”

Only voted for him when he was shoehorned into being Jerry Brown's running mate.

Voted to recall him, too.

Wrote in Cox's bear, Tag as my choice to replace him if it was successful.

Don't be fooled. This is a backdoor push to advance the privatization of 8 million acres of public national forests by chipping away at public ownership.

Just like Mike Lee, Cox's only goal here kick the public off our shared land & turn it over to industry pillage.
