#Enshrined
Having just used history and tradition in the 1A context to persuade a court not to impose a prior restraint, I won’t comment on Bruen’s risible use of h+t

Just wanna say, how *could Congress have violated 2A in 1968? Back then no sensible jurist/lawmaker thought 2A enshrined personal gun rights

You are entitled to believe what you like, and to peacefully protest to support your beliefs. That is enshrined in our laws.

You are, however, not entitled to use force and violence to coerce our government.

The reason is simple: such acts of force can be used by whoever for whatever ends.

Indeed, our founders, the White males who enshrined the denial of liberty and equal rights to many (those not them), acknowledged our imperfections when they drafted and sent for ratification the Constitution that began “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union….”

#wordweavers 02/16 If your MC had a statue put up in their honor, what it be for?

She would be enshrined so she didn't cause any more damage.

Warped ideology, introduced decades ago & pushed by the then right-wing long-serving government which enshrined in law, Cannabis sativa was a dangerous drug & growing &/or use was to be stopped due to NO scientific nor factual information whatsoever! Science & fact should replace ideology & myth.

it's such a funny monument for her to have in her head. lit. "tower reaching heaven". it used to be an outright eiffel tower ripoff. it's a gigantic advertisement atop las vegas tier shallow chintziness. some fucking imported doll from america is enshrined as a god inside there. it's so good.

Also, many were fleeing religious oppression. That's why religious freedom is one of the first rights to be enshrined in the Constitution. The government has no mandate to impose a national religion on the people it governs.
interesting to think that revolutionary era americans understood themselves as making a break with the “old world” and establishing a new civilization. and crucially, this new civilization rested on republican self-government, not “sovereignty.”
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

Yesterday I visited Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
Here, Tokugawa Ieyasu from the drama "Shogun" is enshrined as a deity.
After climbing 200 steps, you reach Ieyasu's tomb. However, it is said that Ieyasu's remains are actually buried elsewhere.

Every gun shop and gun show in the country requires an ID, Background check and a transfer fee. So we are paying for an actual enshrined right.
February 16, 2026 at 1:52 AM
This is not true. You can’t buy a gun in any state without proof of an ID.

But, buying a gun is actually enshrined in the constitution. Is voting?

The only way to have enshrined them would be through a Constitutional Amendment, which would never have been gotten the necessary 2/3 approval by both the House and Senate, AND 3/4 of the states to ratify it.
February 16, 2026 at 12:45 AM
How do you think they could have enshrined them, given that SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade because (among other reasons) they said it was an issue that should be left to the states.

Any federal law that guaranteed abortion access, would be overturned on the same basis.

4/4

The Founders anticipated the distinct possibility that corrupt interests might do do this to their Constitutional Republic.

They enshrined the “exceptional” cure for these “exceptional” circumstances in the Constitution.

Act accordingly, and thank you for your attention to this matter.

NSW Govt spent years fighting protestors. Protests drive change. Australian-made F-35 parts flow covertly to the Israeli war machine. Civil rights experts spent years raising alarm about erosion of rights, which are not constitutionally enshrined. cheekmedia.substack.com/p/the-nsw-go...

It's a war crime, in fact. Enshrined in the Geneva Conventions and insisted on by every professional military in the world, and we hold to it whether the enemy does or not.

And the reason why is fairly simple. If breaking faith is permitted or tolerated you'll never be able to appeal to good faith.

In the Primaries the
Democrats should try, URGENTLY, to get a progressive slate of candidates.

In the General *anyone* who cares about the values enshrined in the U.S. constitution should vote for ANY candidate with a “D” beside their name (or an “I” that’ll caucus with them).

You are under no obligation to show your birth certificate to vote. Nor would the new law require it.

But to answer your question no, women’s right to vote is enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It matters not a wit what your marital status may be.

Yup, the fact it’s enshrined in that document and people ignore that is ludicrous. Again, thank you. 🙏🏾

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concert... says that was A=435. So, with a caveat about not having read that text, I would say that the Treaty of Versailles enshrined a tuning standard, but not 440.

"I'm better than most other people and I demand that be enshrined in law"
Maria Steen, she of the Holy Handbag, argues in the Times that we should introduce a form of marriage with "no possibility of divorce." Maybe she is too young to remember that we already tried this. It ended very badly for some - that's why we introduced divorce.

SCOTUS enshrined the perfect metaphor for in and out groups; in groups which the law protects and out groups upon which the law is enforced as the saying is.
How come a sitting president can sue an individual, but an individual cannot sue a sitting president?
February 15, 2026 at 6:43 PM
Kristi Noem wants to know who her critics are. In order to do what? Arrest them? Put them in ICE detention facilities?

This is still a democracy which has enshrined freedom of speech. Noem's just going to have to live with the fact that we have the right to express our opinions.

yeah like if you said something to didn't mean is one thing but this literally enshrined racism, and perfectly encapsulates the (unacceptable, unelectable) newsom position

Voting isn’t just your Constitutionally-enshrined right, it’s a foundational democracy endorsement.
