namawinelake on Twitter: SLAPP (Strategic lawsuits against public participation) is the name given to unmerited libel proceedings taken by people with vast resources to silence criticism.

I'm told that Senator Aubrey McCarthy has agreed to nominate Ms Steen, though not to support her campaign. That still leaves her two short, with some politicos unhappy at the carry-on of her supporters.
