#Homeschoolers
While there was a time when homeschooling was primarily done for religious reasons and kids truly didnt get educations they needed, I think people tend to forget that the majority of homeschoolers now are non-religious families and the majority of these kids are also statistically shown to be more

Them: "You homeschool. I bet your kid learns nothing."

Me: Today we read the entire constitution, then dressed up as George Washington, James Madison and William Paterson and acted out the Virginia Plan vs New Jersey Plan Debate.

Not all homeschoolers are dumb and uneducated.

Pols who have spousal income from nonprofits that have strong ideological biases... that probably should be transparent and regulated.

She's not at school on a Thursday... I witnessed a homeschoolers permitted outside interaction. They did come into the store saying "it's been a long time!" I didn't catch what caused them to be held up or for how long.

Sigh, oh well. Not my kid. I'm glad she had a good day eating bread.

You're right.
They mandate MMR for kids entering school.

But they allow exemptions for medical reasons (physician certification) or religious beliefs (requiring a notarized affidavit).
The latter is a loophole you can drive a cyber truck through.

And then there's the homeschoolers.

Mostly I agree, but I do know a couple of awesome homeschoolers. They went above and beyond for their kids.

If you're getting raised by Christian homeschoolers, this isn't a parody

this is so great. As ex-homeschoolers, my husband and I use these resources to patch educational gaps our parents left.

Homeschool grad here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I turned out normal enough that people think I’m joking when I say I was homeschooled. Yeah, there is a sect of homeschoolers that is crazy — and those are the ones that everyone hears about — but the rest are just nerds.

Why r yall focused on poor rural homeschoolers/homeschoolers forced to homeschool bc their options are a system that abandoned them, a system that costs an arm and a leg and causes the same damage as the system that abandoned said student, or nothing?

Pls put the focus back on the problem 😭😭😭

I have met many folks who were former homeschoolers in my life and every single one of them thinks it was a terrible decision by their parents

A lot of homeschoolers I knew during that era (and even today) experienced way worse than myself. I'm sorry you were affected so terribly.
