Ohh okay, that’s different. I’m strictly speaking about law firm hiring.
That’s uncommon now, in my experience (I’m a lateral recruiter). Candidates can always ask for more time — and a firm that refuses is usually a red flag — but 2 weeks is the norm right now.
This is really the most startling image so far.

Only 24% approve, and less than half of Republicans, of demolition at White House
I can’t speak to entry level roles, but this has been the norm for lateral roles for a long time. Only partners get more time.

I feel like the refusal to understand why and how this can be used as a rallying cry is somewhere between being incapable of understanding how human emotions work and just straight wrecker stuff.

im sorry but if you think “normies” dont care about the white house being demolished for a half billion dollar golden vanity ballroom as the economy implodes then you just arent as plugged in as you think you are
Herbstreit calling Wentz “weak” for looking like he’s in pain when he’s playing through an injury is such BS.
Just how bad is this Brosmer guy that they won’t put him in over Wentz? This is painful to watch.
It’s just cruel to keep playing Wentz at this point.
Vikings, it’s time to put in Timothee Chalamet
Idk, I think they could probably do it a few times, if they space it out enough. It’s not like Trump remembers what he says from one moment to the next, and his team is really incredibly incompetent, so would anyone notice?
a fun thing to consider is that China, and probably Russia, almost certainly have the ability to post from the president's Truth Social account. they just know that they only get to use that *once*.
I think the White House is probably absolutely riddled with spies and listening devices and also they're getting exactly as much actionable intelligence as you'd get from browsing Truth Social.

god do you know how much it would rule to be able to elect an actual reasonable person in the 5th district?
Goodbye Reps. Rob Wittman (R-VA01), Jen Kiggans (R-VA02), and John McGuire (R-VA05)? Yes, please!

Today, the White House Press Secretary told the country that this ridiculous damn ballroom is “the president’s main priority”…not reopening the government, not lowering the cost of groceries, not lowering the cost of housing, not lowering the cost of healthcare….building a ballroom

This is a drum I've been banging for a while -- if it were true that higher taxes made rich people flee for low tax areas, there would be no rich people living in CA or NYC! It's a claim that's used a lot by anti-government types and it's long been visibly and demonstrably false.
Oh so we’re just living out the plot of Star Wars.
ELON MUSK: “If we build this robot army, do I have at least a strong influence over this robot army? … I don't feel comfortable building that robot army unless I have a strong influence.” Read the full piece from @aarianmarshall.bsky.social on @wired.com www.wired.com/story/elon-m...
Elon Musk Wants ‘Strong Influence’ Over the ‘Robot Army’ He’s Building
In a Tesla earnings call Wednesday, the world’s richest man pondered the future of his company’s Optimus robots—and his control over them.

Completely understandable! I wish it wasn’t that way.
I see where you’re coming from and grant that that may be the case — people are so casually cruel sometimes! — but I still think you may be reading too deep into their comment. I don’t know if they put that much thought into their word choice here. Malice isn’t necessarily implied.
I didn’t pick up on that implication. I read “innocent child” as referring to the child as a victim of the school’s stupid policy, not as if the kid were “innocent” for not being trans.
Am I missing something here? I think this person was agreeing with you.
This is great 😂
