#RentHead
Rosario Dawson AND Jesse L Martin both announced for RICC. My Renthead heart is happy (and hoping beyond words that Anthony Rapp is also coming).

Here’s your reminder that tomorrow we’re honoring our inner RENThead and painfully accepting the film (and musical)’s shortcomings. IT’S A LONG ONE!

As a long-time Renthead, it’s always a thrill when Anthony and Adam sing together

Wondering which of my cookies alerted @npr.org that I was likely a RentHead
(yes I am already a sustaining member of my local station @texaspublicradio.bsky.social)

Passed by the theater that I spent so much time in as a Renthead in a previous life

Obsessively listening to RENT over and over because it hurts so good to remember when being a Renthead was a significant chunk of my livelihood with my so-called "ex"

the music still slaps though

and i still know all the lyrics to "la vie boheme" and can sing the hell out of "out tonight"

Holy shit I remember when she was a RENThead way wayyyyy back.

A knitter AND a Renthead? Hello new friend! 😀

Last but not least, “Tick, Tick, Boom." Loved it, as I knew I would, given that I did my time as a Renthead in my teens.

RIGHT?! I mean, sure, not catching the "Rent" reference, or even realizing it was a reference... fine. Not everybody needs to be a Renthead. But what is even the purpose of trying to shit on Flavor Flav because you think he said something complimentary about NYC? Who is that supposed to impress?

22) A piece of lore that many people already know about me but still on occasion people are surprised to learn: I was a teenage Renthead and on multiple occasions slept outside theaters overnight to wait for rush tickets. I've seen the show ??? a lot of times.

Omg I have been caught slipping in my Renthead levels…I JUST heard Michaela Jae Rodriguez (on Keep It) mention having been in Rent off-Broadway & I was like. Wait. Did I see her? And I went to my files and YES 🫨

“I am not a Renthead,” I insist, having just worn a 25-year-old Rent shirt to a production of Rent and inadvertently grabbing an old XXL promo shirt of Rent to sleep in

Despite being a massive RENThead, I didn’t realize until I saw “In the Heights” live (I’d previously seen it only as a movie once) how much the farewell to Claudia, “Alabanza,” sounds like Mimi’s “Goodbye Love.” Missed it even though Daphne Rubin-Vega both was in the movie & was OBC Mimi.

There's also a movie version of it too. I have that too. Major RENThead here!

20 years later and this song is STILL relevant. Actually, 30 years later bc that’s when the musical came out & the film in 2005. I am a #RentHead IYKYK. To my fellow rent heads, I’ll go and watch “rent” again and sing along to the soundtrack. Both the Broadway and film adaptation.

there’s a part in a ms. rachel video where she’s talking about cows and says “moo with me” and i refuse to believe she’s not a renthead
January 25, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Ooo, that’s DIFFICULT! I’m kind of a RENThead, though it’s been a while. And Les Mis is incredible.

I was a second generation ReNthead, as I got to New York just after most of the original cast left, but I still wound up seeing it more times than I can quantify. 7/9

No matter how many times I've seen this, the ending still makes me sob.

I was such a huge Renthead in the mid 2000s.

I'm not a huge Broadway or stageplay in general stan but I am a Renthead (Rent fan~). I'm big on modern music used in stage plays but unfortunately, not many use this outside of Rent. 🤔 That and my tastes in theater usually leans more into the crime, thriller, horror side like Agatha Christie's...

Upgraded trains to make it look like you're not in a 70s subway car? I used to live in Manhattan & I used to live in CT before that & was an actor then, actually getting work. Also a RENTHead. I would drive to New Haven & the best part was the last 20 min into tunnel & out to amazing Grand Central.
March 30, 2025 at 8:20 PM
In many ways I reflect on my time as a Renthead the same way that someone might think about their time way down in the mines where you watched a good man die right in front of you
June 15, 2024 at 5:09 AM
Most that know me know how much RENT and its composer Jonathan Larson means to me…So as a RENTHead it is completely surreal to be here tonight in the East Village seeing one of the last preview performances of @thejonathanlarsonproject ! Nothing but love tonight! No Day But Today!

If I hadn’t noticed and identified the Dies Irae at the beginning of “Your Idol” from KPDH, would I be more fired from being a RENThead or from being a Sweeney Todd fan?
