Very few journalists are financially independent like Marisa is. A lot more could be but it takes a shitload of courage on the reporting side and a shitload of shameless promotion on the marketing side and not many are up for the task.

A shrink told me that becoming a caretaker for an adult is basically the same experience as becoming a new mom.

Related: Once while I was caring for my mom she made a crack about it being good I never had kids. I said, "What about this experience do you think makes me *regret* not having kids?"

Caretaking uses a huge amount of energy - physical, emotional, and mental. More than your brain tells you it should. So give yourself some grace regarding anything that falls by the wayside.

Zoloft saved my life. For both anxiety & depression. Helps a lot with intrusive thoughts.

It upset my stomach when I took it first thing with just coffee, so now I take it after breakfast. And it can take a couple of weeks to start working, so keep that in mind. Good luck. Hope it's helpful.
