A long Facebook post from years ago talking about how much it sucks to be Harriet Winslow.

Begging people to please stop posting @halfwaypost.bsky.social's fake stories. It's not even satire. They're not satirizing anything; they're just writing fan fiction.

If you look in the replies to any of their posts, it's like 95% people who think it's real. They should stop it.

You know where's warmer than NYC right now? Helsinki

(Granted, it is 7:30 a.m., but it's only 2 degrees' difference)

That attack on Brown came from the left. It is likely this one on Omar came from the right. But like Brown she has spent years living with the very real threat of a mortal attack. So it doesn’t matter if that syringe was full of strawberry Kool-Aid. It is a horrifying act of political violence.

When I worked in the mayor’s office in high school, a protestor pied Willie Brown. And there were legit reasons to protest Brown. But Brown was also a civil rights leader, the first black mayor of San Francisco and the first black speaker of the assembly. He had legit reasons to fear assassination.

In 2007 I put “Favorite sauce: sriracha” on my resume for an admin assistant position at a marketing company for nonprofits.

Not only was I asked about it in the interview, I got the job

Post video without this ⬆️ info and no one will know if it's true!

Events in the video supposedly from today ⤵️ took place 3 days ago! And ICE wasn't there! Don't panic people.
Bec this dude will not remove or update his post know that this was MPD officers not ICE (!!!!) and happened on Saturday.

Read alllll the comments below confirming that.

No idea why @mattmfm.bsky.social refuses to correct his post.
Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

Speaking as a Black woman who never loved this show, that's actually is a very great analogy

Much like Rowling and HP, that show had its own issues where the creator's behavior made it that much easier to finally have conversation people been wanting to have from day one
Imagine saying that younger generations are not watching The Cosby Show anymore because young people have fallen out of love with the family sitcom.

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”

My Gen-Z kids loved Harry Potter. Then they grew the fuck up. Then JK Rowling being a shitty transphobe relieved them of ever having warm thoughts about it so there's no nostalgic revisiting. It's pretty simple.

you should not share a post that's a screenshot without a link to a news item. you should not share a post that's a video or picture without some kind of sourcing. we're in a new bad era and these are now basic practices.

... also photogs and journos gotta eat so share their work.

I just got home from BroadwayCon about *two hours* after it actually ended. My train had to stop just before my station and turn around. It's not that long a walk, but a lot of the streets haven't been plowed in hours and same with a lot of the sidewalks not being shoveled.

Mamdani is a revelation in US politics because for most of my lifetime every Democrat has internalised the message that they must be apologetic for being a public servant. They communicate within the Republican frame that government is implicitly a Bad Thing.

Zohran is proud of his role, dammit.
Mamdani made a 90 sec. video discussing when and how the roads would be plowed, crediting the workforce that makes it possible, reminding owners they must shovel, reminding trash may be delayed, saying there’d be a decision about school by noon, and telling kids it’s fine to hit him with snowballs.
