#Scofflaws
I just moved to NYC and it took me less than 48 hours to realize what a bunch of scofflaws the NYPD are when it comes to parking near their station houses. It's almost like someone needs to enforce the law...

in retrospect it really was a fundamental, possibly fatal, flaw of our system that nobody ever really set up a robust way to single out constant scofflaws for rapidly escalating and dire penalties

like after the 10th or 20th judgment finding trump liable for running the same basic scam, the obviously just thing to do would be to start *slamming* him with enormous punitive damages, but instead the judiciary probably is forced every time to be charlie brown taking another shot at the football

Epstein is in hellfire right now ! There is a God ! His Name is Jesus Christ and he will punish the sinners and scofflaws!
This painting is called "Little Miss Pink Tomato" and it belonged to Epstein.

“Survivors describe seeing it.
It was strategic staging and psychological manipulation.”

That's how it was sold to these small municipalities. Catch scofflaws driving around unlicensed and uninsured, get them to take care of their outstanding warrants and pay their fines.
All good ideas that raise revenue.
But then we get the fascists using the system for unwarranted surveillance.

Typical shameless, mealy-mouthed framing from the Times here. Citizenship doesn’t “elude the grasp” of people in the final stages of naturalization! It is being taken from them by sadistic scofflaws. Why can’t you say that?
Sweeping immigration changes by the Trump administration have resulted in the cancellation of oath ceremonies, the last step in the process of becoming a citizen. The actions are the latest attempt to tighten who can call themselves an American. w/ Orlando Mayorquín www.nytimes.com/2025/12/06/u...

I have lived most pf my life in big cities around creative and well educated people. For a few years now I've been in the countryside where the scofflaws and cookers hang out.

I think there is a big divide between such groups and barely any discourse between them. Divide & conquer is very old.

Obviously if we’ve all paid our taxes there ain’t an issue… HOWEVER: wasting government resources looking ONLY for the possible/potential scofflaws who oppose Trump’s Nazi agenda is an ABUSE of power, and this Nazi witch needs to be removed from her position ASAP. No discussion & no debate. #Antifa

These articles always frame this on people beating the subway fare. According to this article fare evasion is~1/3rd of the MTA's $1B loss. Subway scofflaws aren't the majority of that 1/3.

Meanwhile, what about the ~2/3 of a $B lost to drivers who cover their license plates to not pay tolls?
