#Squabbles
I also hate how much of a buzzword “racism” has become. Like, congratulations you’ve turned an actual real and relevant problem into a bargaining chip for online squabbles

I had a first date fall apart over a disagreement about Donnie Darko (he thought it was a masterpiece, I thought it was crap), & another over a disagreement over The Master (different guy, same dynamic).

I've managed to keep my squabbles about Chasing Amy & Forrest Gump reasonably good-natured

I just want them to damage one another so badly in these squabbles that they lose the next election cycle in a historic fashion.

Replying to @nflmemewar.bsky.social:
A man of my girth sees no glory in these petty squabbles between kites and buzzards, for the truest victory lies in a well-stocked larder and a full purse.

If you aren’t used to livestock guardian breeds, these things look super scary. I’ve seen people on fb trying to rehome guardian dogs after small squabbles.

Once upon a time, the internal squabbles of political science received detailed write-ups in the NYTimes:

Y’all are out there trying to figure out pronouns while I struggle with whether to say “I” or “he” about my merged twin brother’s memories from before cell line shift and hippocampus memory loss.

There are experiences that render the squabbles of people absurd, and I handle mine as a social exile.

All my picks are from shows I hosted and likewise for Darren
No squabbles

Maybe next year we’ll pick for each others shows instead

so happy to hear the right can unite in a truly uncontroversial message for all: that we need to be exterminated. if these people weren't so stupid and committed to internecine squabbles right now i might actually feel scared.
NYT: Ramaswamy Challenges Surging Bigotry on the Right

the actual speech: unamerican transgenders murdered charlie kirk and we all love to hate them don't we folks

The GOP’s internal squabbles are a gift that keeps on giving, especially for MPs eager to bask in the limelight of a divided opposition. Plenty of back-and-forths in the headlines mean some Fantasy Parliament players should be keeping an eye on their favorite gladiators in Westminster.

The Second World War solved as little as the first. Once again, a transformation was taking place more profound than the surface squabbles among competing nations. At first, the global economy made an amazing recovery. But then things started to stall. On the surface the mechanics of the world

A transformation of society was taking place more profound than the surface squabbles among competing nations. The Feudal order, of which Louis was the ideal, was changing to an order where a property-owning middle class had a role in the affairs of government. The transition was not smooth.

there are aspects of it that are just unimpeachable — most squabbles are either middling or with tolkein himself

10 years ago today, 4 year old Molly finally lets 3 month old Luna in for a snuggle. It's not always peaceful between these two, but squabbles are never too serious. 😺 🐈

Who in Paramount studios thinks the head of CBS News( Bari Weiss ) involving herself in petty squabbles between Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson and finally Megyn Kelly is good corporate strategy?

I could also do something about Istanbul, but so much of its transit is rooted in intra governmental squabbles that I don’t feel qualified to write about

I may have many squabbles with the format, but it was still great to hang with @jabaspie.bsky.social and @paintnpdx.bsky.social at a trivia game tonight! I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas week

6/10 The Registry Failure:

Why doesn't Canada know who is vaccinated?

We lack a national registry:

👉 SPHINX (1998): Failed due to provincial squabbles

👉 Panorama (2000s): suffers from data gaps & lack of provider reporting

👉 STARVAX (Current): work in progress; PEI & B.C. not fully integrated

For Kes it's probably Jaheira. Trying to do the right thing most of the time, knows they get it wrong sometimes (or a lot). Little patience for petty god squabbles. Sprinkle in a heavy dose of sarcasm and biting humor, and the general consensus that they are both SO done with all this shit.

I don't hating a guy who made riding unsafe for million of people should be equated with minor tribal squabbles.

EU agrees €90 billion loan to Ukraine, but squabbles over frozen Russian assets expose the bloc’s deep divisions
To placate pro-Moscow governments in Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia, the EU had to include an ‘opt-out’ clause for its support for Ukraine.

Good familiar, if there will be a war between me and Sophelia it will not due to pretty squabbles.

Now go back to Sophelia and write something nice on her latest post, it made me incredibly emotional and i want her to be showered in love.

It also feeds the narrative of “the government is broken and just cares about internecine petty squabbles,” which both favors the party saying “the government is broken and just cares about internecine petty squabbles” AND incentivizes them to keep breaking the government so they can keep saying it
imo the actual threat to capital-A America is not the Trump administration but that the Trump administration's behaviors will not be disincentivized enough

flip-flopping back and forth between breaking things and fixing things every 4-8 years means eventually it'll stay broken
Stuff like this will obviously be very easy to undo and clearly will be undone, like it would be totally non-controversial even with the most milquetoast new Dem POTUS you could imagine, but it is genuinely just Not Good when even the basic names of institutions start ping ponging every 4-8 years
