This is an extremely good point that has zero chances of computing with most Swifites. "Ew, Bob Dylan? That old guy who doesn't sing pretty or make literal sense?"
I don't know Swift's work well enough to know if she compares, but there's this bloke called Dylan who actually won the Nobel Prize for Literature for his lyrics, just for a start.
I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

My thoughts on tswift is that shes a great pop/country songwriter when it comes to storytelling. And her music was catchy. But along the way the swifites dubbed her a poet and a lyrical genius when she never really was. She just had a way with stories. So now no stories. No fun beats. So its like?

Currently having the same mental battle about it. But i am trying to frame it to myself as research/observation/fun time 🤣 I was lockedin at Miley’s album movie in theaters it was fun to watch on the big screen, so I’m hoping it will be equally as enjoyable. But gp swifites will be … interesting
