It took me a long time to "understand" The Dead even growing up in the Bay Area. I was a hard rock kid in the 70's and early 80's. In the late 80's and 90's, got into REM, U2, Elvis Costello, etc.. I could have seen them 100 times, but didn't. As I aged, I really grew to appreciate what they did. 💀
