The EU holds over $2 trillion in US debt, more than China and Japan combined.
For the last 5 years I've been warning that the greatest threat by Trump is turning the world order upside down. Now it's here. It came out Friday evening. I doubt if 1% of the population knows it happened. For your own good and your children, read this article. It's Draconian and it's here.

EU officials are weighing the 'Nuclear Option' of dumping U.S. Treasuries if Trump cuts a Ukraine deal and betrays the Allies. This would trigger an economic collapse in the US, millions would lose everything overnight and Saudi Arabia, UAE, and China would buyout the country.

The real takeaway here is that if Elon was to say this about China, the govt would shut down his business overnight and revoke access to the market.

But he can openly say this about the EU knowing full well any response will be slow, ineffective, and offset by US political backing.
It’s funny how Elon Musk has no problem with Chinese regulation, which is much stricter than European regulation.

Have you ever seen him call for the abolition of the CCP?

Without the EU every single MS would be bullied by the US, Russia and China (and maybe more).

Some would even be invaded and colonised by Russia.

🇫🇷🇨🇳 Macron warns China: EU may impose tariffs over growing trade imbalance.

Macron said the situation is a “matter of life and death for European industry”

During a trip to China, he told them they were “killing” their own customers, including by importing almost nothing from us anymore.

They interfere politically to sabotage us and try to throw Ukraine under the bus while siding with Putin

a trade account transaction), but for China, the EU, and global trade, a sustained reduction in the US trade deficit, when it comes, will be far more of a game changer than the erratic schedule over the past year of bilateral tariffs and shifts in trade imbalances.

The EU, like the US, has failed to build up sufficient rare earth refining capacity and remains dependent on Chinas monopoly.

In Trump vs China rare earth supply restrictions beat demand constraints from US tariffs and the president folded.

The Dutch also discovered the hard way…

China’s exports jumped 5.9 percent in November while shipments to the US collapsed by 29 percent. The admin drove our top trade partners to China, and Beijing is rerouting trade to Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the EU while the US loses leverage.

It is definitely heading towards a showdown between EU and the US.
At this point Russia is demoted to a sideshow of what might potentially come.
China is not participating, they are way to wise to get in the way.

Dass Nvidia nun zusätzliche Chips nach China liefern darf, zeigt: „Nationale Sicherheit“ ist für die US-Regierung nur ein Preisschild. Das sollte die EU beherzigen. Ein Kommentar.

After reading the 2025 U.S. National Security Strategy, seeing Scott Bessent say that the US remains an ally of China, and reading Musk call for dismantling the EU, I just want to scream into the void, because it feels like we are sliding back into late 19th century imperialism led by a kakistocrats

Once again, Western Isolationism only benefits Russia and China.

There's a reason they're pushing the shit. They want to expand and take Ukraine/Taiwan and a divided EU and US makes it easier to do that.
Elon Musk is pushing a Russian talking point about the dissolution of the European Union on X.

(The man agreeing with him is a former president of Russia and current deputy chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.)

Everyone talks about the "multipolar world" of russia, China, and the US - but the EU is a similar size or bigger (in population and GDP) and is also nuclear armed.

We need to stop accepting this secondary role that everyone wants to assign us.

A fractured Europe serves only to bolster the economies and influence of the US, China and not forgetting Russia.

When the UK left the EU it wasn't only an act of self-harm: it also damaged the EU economy and its stability.

Even allowing for some rerouting via third markets, the asymmetry is clear: the EU is far more dependent on Chinese clean tech than the United States, while China is far more dependent on the EU market than on the US.

In a world increasingly shaped by great power competition between the US and China, the EU represents strength in numbers and the protective aspect of size and scale.

Bizarrely, the EU seems to have forgotten that in dealing with Trump II.

Russia is 10/1 the size of EU. Its not USSR by any means, & Ukraine with EU help has proven to be enough to stem the tide.
So while we should work with UK, we should not depend on them.
Creating a EU Defence Union & reform EU is much more important, as we face US, Russia & China threats as per

NATO is bad, destroy it (ruSSia wants that)
EU is a threat to the US, they are the enemy (ruSSia thinks the same)
ruSSia should be our ally
China is bad but not that bad (ruSSia thinks about them the same)
Nort Korea not bad at all anymore (ruSSia thinks the same)

Us Natl Debt is 38 Trillion. Japan 1 T, China 1 T, EU 2 T. Who is holding the other 34 T in debt?

This is a scary article, yes, but there are huge holes in the story presented.
