As a person who grew up during the era of the nintendo ds's pictochat. Videoverse did bring me back to that time period and I reached out to some old friends and ...kinda missed ex friends I lost touch with. It was a nice walk back.

Famitsu sent me a wonderful parcel to celebrate VIDEOVERSE’s gold award! 🥇 Thank you so much!!

A huge thanks to @ratalaikagames.com and the Japanese playtesters for making this possible! ❤️

@kinmoku.bsky.social did a fantastic job replicating a time that was important for me in a similar way to the characters in the game.

Videoverse is for the gays!

hell yeah, videoverse owns!
in mundane but important-to-me news, I played this game Videoverse over the last while and finished it today, and the story of the game was good but I didn't feel, you know, devastated by it . young love. touching but we've all been there. and then it had an epilogue which just wrecked me outright

Videoverse does it quite well, where sometimes you'll pick an option but the character doesn't want to say it

Not to take away from Videoverse (which is worth playing ASAP for everyone at full price), but endless monday by @hcnone.bsky.social also has touch support on switch and you specifically should review it. I think both Endless Monday and Videoverse are essential Switch games for 2025.

If you're looking for a narrative game with a twist to get you through the months of winter blues, @kinmoku.bsky.social 's Videoverse is a ridiculously easy recommendation. Retro charm, heartfelt story, and a wonderful overall message.

It even has touch support on Switch, which nobody does!

Thank you for checking out VIDEOVERSE :D

The users of Videoverse don't have much time, though, so everything is sort of in a pressure cooker! Still, I tried my best for it to feel realistic because, if the timing wasn't right, the relationships wouldn't have meant as much to the player.

A good opportunity to proselytise for two terrific indy games which do this, which in very different ways do manage the illusion of time: the marvellous Videoverse and I Was A Teenage Exocolonist.
games almost never manage the illusion of time well, in fairness, see Baldur's Gate 3.
V's desperate struggle to survive is compelling, as long as you don't remember that you spent weeks of in game time driving around looking for hallucinations to scan with your cybereyes

Web 1.0 still holds a place in our hearts and VIDEOVERSE does its best to call out to that special place we once spent hours of our youth on.

Check out our review of this narrative adventure title here!

I don't live in the past. Well, ideally I'd not like to since you can't find the future in it. Still, tell that to the me that likes to reminisce in my free time about the "good old days" where the internet was a wild west where new things were popping up and we didn't quite have the structures set up for corporate perverts and cadavers to mine our data and sell it away. It's that reminiscing that got me to eye up Kinmoku Games' and porting studio Ratalaika Games'

Getting nostalgic for this era of my life - time to remind people to buy and play @kinmoku.bsky.social’s terrific, moving game Videoverse, the best bit of art in any medium made about being a forum/MySpace teen thus far.
Fascinating consequence of shift to a post-literate Internet (to me, at least) that you can now listen to/watch fanfiction on YouTube.
This is a personal attack on me by YouTube

VIDEOVERSE then and now. @kinmoku.bsky.social
Quote this with your favourite game from 2023 NOW, and what your favourite was THEN (if you had one)

Localisations/early access/expansions count, remasters/ports don't. Remakes depend.

Two-way ties count.

🔊 I’ve now been looking up “One Night Stand” on my Xbox to try for myself later - unfamiliar circumstances that will never occur here either! 12 endings?!😳

Anyway, here’s my #VIDEOVERSE playthrough 🧵👇

🎮 I’ve been playing #VIDEOVERSE by @kinmoku.bsky.social based upon @superchartisland.com’s original rec. for a “fantastic narrative game about the relationships formed on online message boards.”

Reminds me of Discord a bit! 😆 Just landed in ch.3 after some awkward scenes 😯

🔊 Just been listening to a recent @indieventurepodcast.co.uk podcast where @rachelwatts.bsky.social talks to @kinmoku.bsky.social.

I recently completed #VIDEOVERSE so it was neat to hear some background, including thoughts on DLC/sequel if it did/does well enough.
