There are many, many legitimate things to criticise Ed Davey and the Lib Dems for. I certainly do my fair share.

The thing to remember with Danny Finkelstein (and David Gauke for that matter) is he's on record many times wishing they didn't exist, and all his criticism is couched in that.

Said this before but Ireland punches artistically just from no income tax for what you make from the arts. It’s really not rocket science

(which would be taxed)
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

Big thanks to @stevencampos.bsky.social and @everdread.bsky.social for implementing the Madeline animations and for workshopping ideas ✨

*slaps roof of Reform* "This bad boy can fit SO many 30 per cent propositions in it"
On top of this, it really risks tipping Reform into a US oriented, Christian nationalist, socially conservative party in a way that is uncomfortable for a lot of UK voters. The question is if those voters notice or care.
Reform’s new “head of policy” has said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a “regional Slavic conflict”.

He added: “It is a conflict happening in the world that I don’t care very much about.”

Not going to QT as it feels a bit mean, but (and following that great report by @aliceolilly.bsky.social) I don't think it should be part of an MP's job to chase up someone's unissued driving licence.
