#all-music-shops
Leaving to one side whether '80s pop is any good or not, I don't understand why 40-year-old music is so ubiquitous still. The idea, when I was a teenager in the '80s, of almost all shops and bars playing 1940s music would have seemed quaint for about a week, and then increasingly sinister.

It was a small place, maybe 250 capacity, but was always crowded.. even on open mic nights. In the Old Town neighborhood, quite the funky area, head shops galore, music of all sorts foating down the street and a place a couple doors away that was the first sushi restaurant in Chicago. Great memories

Almost all hip hop and early mainstream electronic music was made with synths and drum machines that were industry failures that ended up in pawn shops and goodwill.

I tell customers who mention Pret's music that it's done in HQ & then streamed to all shops. But the playlist is not for comfort, rather the opposite. That's Y the volume is also very high so customers don't linger around too long. See YT above.

"A Plague Of Gimps" will be available to pre-order on LP/DL on Feb 6th via Bandcamp and from all good independent retailers through Cargo.

It'll be in shops and digital platforms on March 6th.

If you write about music or have a radio show then let me know and I can share the album with you.

-Past & Present were, as I discovered later in the decade, a Chart Return shop, meaning they logged all their sales and sent the data to the official music chart compilers. Other record shops in Watford stocked what was in the charts, Past & Present *shaped* the charts.-

As for what all I bought this time around? Less than one would expect for hitting so many shops, but more than I thought I'd end up with, in all honesty!

As I can eat anytime and have plenty of food and containers. I may have a slow cooker casserole. The right weather for something warm.

A no news day so far. Cricket. Music and Sleep.

I won't chastise myself for doing nothing. All I have around me are shops. Few chances to go somewhere nice>>

People used to talk about music cos everyone had to listen to the same radio stations.

Now we’re all on our own playlists.

I don’t know what’s popular and I frankly never gave a shit, but unlike before I’m no longer forced to find out every time I go to the shops.

Nothing makes me more happy than playing Trails and taking my time. Talking to all NPCs (at least twice 😌), doing all sidequests, visiting all shops, cooking food from the recipes I buy/find, doing all sub-events while listening to the nice music. 😌 Doing mainstory when I get home from shopping.

A lovely visit to Charles Topper - shampoo, friction massage, the lot. Ramsay & I came out looking very smart. Not a curl left. To Carnaby Street, and Ramsay came out wearing a cape, lined with red "silk". They play "pop music" in these shops, and all packed with people.

All the music shops have shut, but of course they'll put another takeout place on Chippy Lane.

Stockton on Tees has gone this route. The huge new park opens this summer and there’s a new NHS centre and a small ecosystem of independent shops and music venues. All the “high street” names are out of town.

International Anthem ‘distributed USB sticks containing tracks to record shops around the world, along with an open invitation for anyone interested in reimagining the music to pick one up, get to work, and submit a remix.

Parker reviewed all the submissions, selected and sequenced the tracklist’

I keep saying analogue is coming back. People want to own things. We don’t want to rely on wifi or even electricity. I am buying up all of my fave CDs and DVDs from thrift shops for $1. When the war begins and the internet goes down, and the lights go out, I want to be able to play my music.

Now where is Perfume’s Grammy then? Love that they got recognition/won an award which hasn’t been done since their first debut studio album, GAME. NR part 2 is a really cohesive album and a strong album to end off on before hiatus
