I fitted a whole Yamaha A55 organ and the accompanying music bench thing into the back of a Citroën AX GT once, despite it looking from the outside that the organ was actually larger than the car.

Best car door handles I ever used were on a 3 door Citroen AX. The handle was in a recess behind the door panel, you reached in to a dip in the body behind the panel. No protruding parts at all.

Growing up in France around that time, I have vague memories of VGE. Most of the images in this video are from the 1980's and I clearly remember watching them live when they first aired. Both Citroen ads (CX with Grace Jones and the AX and the French Navy) were very memorable.

En 2002 hablaban en un podcast de un Citroën Ax de alquiler. Eso da la idea de que era algo paranormal ocurrido (era sobre el Mothman) a principios de los 90, porque con la salida al mercado del Saxo en 1996, dudo que a finales de los 90 hubiera AX en alquiler

Didn't they used to be engineered around the speed they did the efficiencies test? My first car was a Citroen AX, which I bought because it had a ridiculously high 72mpg IIRC. Of course you could never get anything like that in practice, unless you were always driving downhill.
