People often think kinkajous are monkeys, and honestly, it makes sense.
But they’re not primates at all.

They’re actually part of the raccoon family, closely related to coatis and raccoons!

See how they’re related in our blog:

I mean it'll still be NICE but if you're not on a floatie in the pool all day, what's going on?

If you haven't been there before, the golf course places are surprisingly good and last year they opened them up earlier so you could go to a place on show day. LOOK FOR COATIS! :)

Did you know??

Coatis have flexible ankles that rotate 180°, letting them climb down trees like squirrels instead of backing down like most mammals!

They’re basically rainforest raccoons with monkey energy

We are leaving a thermal resort in Guancanaste, CR this morning.

Three days of pure joy just sitting watching monkeys, coatis, agoutis, a gazillion birds, toucans, parakeets all just going about their springtime business.

Balm for tired souls. Costa Ricans have done amazing conservation work.

1991) in Nicaragua contains the oldest oak trees in Central America. It is one of the smallest protected areas of Nicaragua, but is abundant with unique flora & fauna: sloths, coatis, pumas, toucans, hummingbirds, tree frogs, iguanas and vipers.

Coatis belong to the procyonid family, like their raccoon cousins. Carl is a trash panda.

I have my own HC for Miqo'te as well. Because I see Suncats more like lions and Mooncats more like wolves. And if that is the case, even in Eorzea there's room for sun clans that take from hyenas, coatis, etc and moon clans more akin to red foxes, coyotes, and so on.

We need more coatis. They're social creatures (minus the males but we can ignore that for the sake of coati fun)

Tangentially related, need to turn more people into coatis.

But, I hope you are able to learn more of your history. When you do, you should share it with everyone so we can learn more things too!
