#decolonialisation
Dutch indonesian soldiers were treated really bad. Bc ofcourse acc to indonesians we had to kill our own. Wich is how that time period was felt here. Decolonialisation war after was even worse and left deep wounds; both in trust as well in lacking govt integrity trust. Bc no mandate without politics
So have we as dutch indonesian. I come from a line of regiment von Heutsz soldiers. So I feel for your loss. My family had open internment per bloody zipcode. Guess the japanese were out of camps, some of my relatives saw burma railway from the inside. One was pow at bandung camp and got killed.

Yes, your belief that it is ok to steal from museums *is* incompatible with your belief in decolonialisation.
Private collections [not made freely available to the public] continue to be the greatest enemy to peoples & their cultures the worlds over.

If England had been the ancestral homeland of the Jews before the Anglo-Saxons arrived, would you support displacing the English, moving Jews in & renaming England "Israel"? No, because you only support treating Palestinian arabs like that. That's racism not decolonialisation.

Lizzie’s academic work has always been strongly informed by her social engagement in support of lesser-represented groups in academia and by the question of the colonial heritage of Celtic Studies and the decolonialisation of the discipline.

Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Zionist action must always centre the Decolonialisation of Palestine and the dismantling of the Isreali Fascist regime. The liberation of Palestinians can never be achieved through International law institutions, nor negotiation ceasfires with the Fascist regime.

Guess the concurrent decolonialisation of the British empire made some of those guys real nervous. For as much as Doctor Who is progressive it simultaneously shows how painfully old and awkward it is.

Museums would be nothing without stolen art and Colonialism. And therefore the Decolonialisation of art would be the death of the museum, and the Western double standard of what art is or isn't and what it should be.

As well as the Decolonialisation of Palestine, the Israeli government should be dismantled.

It's an emotive word but I've found it helpful to look at decolonialisation in relation to Scottish independence, especially in terms of using nationalism as a means to establish new, positive, post-colonial identities. The union was an imperial endeavour, British an imperial identity.

On an historical level-it is interesting that in many cases granted freedoms (indeed even freedoms from violence) do not necessarily lead to betterment of living conditions. Such was observed in the wake of decolonialisation. I concede I haven't the knowledge have an informed debate further on this.

My own mom lost home and homeland due to decolonialisation. And as right as that was to do; still doesn't make the pain and losses my family endured any less.
My family saw the burma railway camp twice and lived to tell the tale. One got killed in the Bandung camp and my aunts survived internment per zipcode. Tust me Im aware of risks of war.

It certainly did exist, in my language the word existed back in 16. century (initially with no derogatory meaning). Russia started to build their empire in 17. century, much like the Western empires, however they never had proper decolonialisation like the West used to have in 1950's-1960's.

Realising that the new book wont be allowed in the United States of Darkness as it has words like insectionality and decolonialisation in it.

I like to take time, to educate. #HistoryMatters Picture; my mom her uncle; FoH; Pandu;Bandung #POW #KNIL #RegimentVonHeutsz after decolonialisation and independence war, my family lost all they had. From Homeland to Home. It took me years to forgive Japan;but realised;they did their jobs too.

I was just reading an article on 'decolonialisation' which pointed the finger very much at Christianity as the bete noir behind the evils of Western oppression of native peoples and their customs - 'first came the Bible, then came the sword'. Truly the church has much to repent of in that respect.

Exactly!
It's one of the strategies they did specifically for the sake of decolonialisation. So every child gets to speak and write their own dialect in school until a certain point, and then they learn two (iirc) standardised dialects after that (bokmål and nynorsk (new norwegian))

I am dutch indonesian. And I am trying to imagine what that fear feels like; bc I am born dutch; mom is born in aftermath of decolonialisation in 1953 i thought. Oops. Shame on me. I mean; if people can take away your nationallity like that out of hate; what would i do; not like indonesia is home.

I doubt Drees would have signed the decolonialisation agreement if not for that Nuke. Yes it cost my family all they held dear; but decolonialisation always comes with a price; Drees should have stuck with first agreement;could have prevented much worse;then again;Im here becaus of that.

Interesting approach to tackling the subject of decolonialisation. A doc about two friends attempting to restore a colonial era library in Nairobi. Focusses on the little picture while so many chances to broaden it out keep passing by. Interesting but limited.
