I told my misogynistic stepfather (who hates cats) that I don't own Puppy.

He couldn't grasp the concept of a cat being my friend...not my property.

Has anyone else noticed that people who hate cats, also tend to hate women?

𝘈 𝘝𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 by English writer and philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft was first published in January 1792. It is a foundational text for feminism that argued for equal education and rights for women--challenging the notion of female inferiority. #literature #litsky #booksky

Commentary: Despite being branded anti-feminist by media elites, Japan’s first female prime minister Sanae Takaichi exposes the blind spots and hypocrisy of academic feminism.
Feminism’s failures and the secret to Takaichi’s success
A movement that cannot accommodate this complexity — that insists feminists must agree on everything or be dismissed as traitors — consigns itself to irrelevance.

When MacKinnon and Dworkin wanted to establish an illiberal precedent in the 1980s (using phobias about the female body to promote their brand of feminism), they chose Minneapolis as one of their locations. Probably not a random choice, as the city’s liberalism was a known known. 1/2

”I’m not surprised Ross had a Filipina wife. The most intense patriarchs often chase what they imagine to be “submissive” partners, usually through racist, colonial stereotypes about non-white women, because they resent modern feminism and women who won’t play obedient.”

There are strains of radical feminism that cross a line in their expressed hatred of men but those are not particularly mainstream.

We have issues to address as a culture rn but I don’t think misandry is a fair charge to level at most women, especially not within a female dominated subculture.

"Feminism" for fascists are excuses for remaining subjugated.

So Wolf is just their female Yarvin.

This may very well be the most monumental, powerful female movement of our time.

This is true feminism.

Mad respect.

This writer seems to think it's a win for feminism to contribute to a business that, by the nature of who owns it, is misogynist and will only get more misogynist.

It's the equivalent of saying women should pay dues to a club that doesn't allow female members, because maybe then, one day, it will.

Agent Carter - The idea of a fifties post-war female secret agent in the MCU forming an early version of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Tony Stark's father is an interesting idea, but the hamfisted social commentary reads like they are trying to teach second wave feminism to chimpanzees.

I just don't like how much "strong female characters" are supposed to represent the concept of feminism as if women must constantly demonstrate our equality through skills in violence and humiliation rather than intellect or compassion. Strength is defined on patriarchal terms.

reading the intro for "wonder woman: bondage and feminism in the marston/peter comics" rn and if that doesn't reflect my own frustration with the analysis framework used for toku shows in general lol

this is a massive problem with feminism for a long time that still persists. the idea that the female body being portrayed as sexually desirable is wrong merely results in an inversion, not resolution, of patriarchy.
Really do feel like the problem was so many people going "sexism is bad, ergo, boobs are bad, because they're just absolutely sloshing and overfull of sexism" rather than catching on that the Real Sexism is in the way women are casually depersoned and shoved into narrow boxes in a lot of scripts

Protagonists are female *and* lesbians. Most critical characters are female, given a big range of personalities, active roles, intelligence, and motivations. The central technology is invented by and most successfully used by women. It's not advanced feminism but it's pretty decent.

It's more like you put "male" on one side and "female" in the other and all violence and titties and blood and suffering is the former and everything the opposite of that is the latter. To her, feminism represents not women's agency, but a life free of anything patriarchy likes.

A Lethal fighting force doesn't exist to sit there and look pretty. Moderate Democrats epitomize the "More female drone pilots!" brand of performative feminism.

… from the below blog post: “TERFs, or trans-exclusionary radical “feminists,” harbor some of the most twisted and erroneous beliefs about feminism & what being a lesbian can or cannot entail. They insist that only those assigned female at birth can be lesbians.”

I’m rather proud of my last bitchy comment of 2025. 😂 Context is the subset of cis female Heated Rivalry fans who think perving on real-life hockey players and TMI and crossing boundaries is feminist.

Sophie Lewis' Enemy Feminisms was one of my favorites this year for her chapter-by-chapter historical analysis of how feminism was used by aspiring female colonizers, fascists, and racists across the centuries. "Feminism" is not an inherent political good! www.haymarketbooks.org/books/2489-e...
