#fetchlands
This guy is gonna wreck fetchlands in Modern and Legacy with that 1st ability like nobody's business, who cares if he becomes the moon when you inject a whole tron worth of mana into him?

This card is convincing me to put fetchlands back into my Changeling deck

Fetchlands might have been a mistake eh? 😅

They're also all colors within the library; I can use Magus of the Order to tutor for Slitherhead.

I don't agree with the rule "being bent" for fetchlands and cards like Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. The colors in their border is an aesthetic quality and not indicative of its color identity.

I've gone on the record several times as a dismissive of landfall because "You got an extra land, Wow Enough"

However, I think that

1) earthbending fetchlands is SUPER cool

2) It depends on the landfall triggers youre chasing

Is you make a freshly-played fetchland a creature, it would have summoning sickness, right? You'd have to have a fetchland sit on the field for a turn.

Given that it convex into play tapped, that's probably not an issue.

Heck, you'd need lifegain to counteract all the fetchlands triggers.

Off-color fetchlands, unborg, phyrexian mana, split cards, transform cards are all separate cases. Do not veer the argument from hybrid cards. Recognize that other oddall CI arguments are separate from hybrid mana.

This is a totally normal Magic deck here

every magic card in 2026 is like Super Shredder And Wan Shi Tong - UUB
Legendary Legendary Creature - Bird Mutant Spirit Ninja Human
Flash
If your opponent thinks about fetchlands, call the Pinkertons on them.

Land Cyclers are free in this cube and act as fetchlands which is huge to establishing why the decks often only run 10 lands in the cube. The moose is huge which is great but will have to compete again the other forest cyclers available.

Same with Fetchlands. Why not make those foundational cards rather than the jank that followed?

And when it comes to licensed games, you need to make your face characters be either absolutely PUSHED so they're good and sell packs, or they get laughably power crept in 2 sets.

I run a Chromatic Lantern in my five-color bracket 4 Superfriends deck alongside the best color fixing money can buy. Is it necessary? Rarely, but it's nice to have when I need it.

this video has a lot of amazing stuff, including more 8th edition test prints (the ones i like) than i've ever seen in one place, but these legions test prints are what really stood out to me. i wasn't aware that the test fetches even existed in the wild.

No prices will increase forever. Dont look at the price graph of the fetchlands. Stop doing that!

Yeah, I've seen a lot of folks citing Birthing Pod or Beseech the Queen and like, sure. I don't think those should just be ANY color.

But those are more extreme examples. Rhys in monogreen? Lurris in monowhite? Seems fine to me. People have been using offcolor fetchlands forever.

Pretty sure this is just a new package on the "should off-color fetchlands be legal in your commander deck?" argument.
October 23, 2025 at 1:45 PM
There has been a great deal of what-about-ism in this topic, we could argue about new players having the same issues understanding hybrid mana than understanding fetchlands on color identity.

For me the issue is more simple, should monoblack get a mana-dork? No, it shouldn't.

Okay, curated them. No more fetchlands or Urbog or Yavimaya

Just added Khans of Tarkir #ktk to EchoEV, the set that brought back the first cycle of fetchlands.

It’s the first set I’m tracking foil cards for, and the EV looks really good so far.

Nostalgia hits hard with this one

You stack up your Time Walks and Black Lotuses in the same pocket? 😂

I would get nervous if someone shuffles a deck with my fetchlands.

Vintage players will, more often than not, hand over their $12,000 deck to an acquaintance if it means someone will have a good time.
October 7, 2025 at 12:53 AM
yeah its one of mtg's first iterations of a purely collector based product. A lot of OG artifacts from MTG's history got printed in this "masterpiece" version

They also have masterpiece versions of fetchlands from zendikar as well as various cards printed as Amonket Invocations.

Because if you're gonna recur fetchlands over and over, you need your life total nuked from orbit, dear
October 3, 2025 at 3:02 PM
or you could remove the cards in the cube that make it take longer. *stares daggers at fetchlands*
October 2, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Part one of the lands. "Play fetchlands to shuffle with those cheap cantrips" is a key idea, but also having enough to always have seen one whenever I draw Crucible of Worlds is pretty key here as well.
