Like for KH1- I was walking in kbtoys and seen its box art. It was the most beautiful artwork I’ve ever seen for a game. I had just enough to get it. Hooked from day one

#botaday Also part of the 2004 Spychanger assortment initially exclusive to KBToys is this incarnation of Optimus Prime. It's a redeco of the Scourge one released in 2002. He turns into a simplified Western Star 4964EX Constellation cab semi truck.

I had $200 birthday money in 1997 and spent it all on SNES titles in the bargain bin—possibly pictured here for $14.99. Breath of Fire was one of those titles. Also, Demolition Man, Suzuka 8 Hours, Blackthorne, Weaponlord, and many others. Best sleepover weekend ever.

Oh, I forgot the Methuen Mall. My main memories are when I visited with my friend and her mom, and we'd grab pizza at Papa Gino's and a cookie at whatever cookie stand it was (I don't remember the name), and look around KBToys, etc.

I got my GameCube for Christmas 2001 from an old KBToys with Luigi’s Mansion. It was the purple one, and then got Smash either also for Christmas or maybe it was after. I actually didn’t know about the GameCube until I saw Blockbuster advertising the rentals. I rented a lot of games from there LOL

I remember one Xmas Santa brought the Nintendo 64 and apparently it needed a rumble pack etc so thankfully kbtoys was actually the only place open on Xmas day. For our autistic son it was an emergency.

I know it’s super common and used to be cheap. I literally bought my copy brand new from KBtoys for $10. I just can’t imagine $50 for a loose cart you’ll beat in half an hour if you’re bad at contra. Pirate that sucker!

One of my favorite all time jokes was when I worked at KBToys (I'm old!) and the company had changed their name from KayBee Toys to KBToys. People would ask how to spell the store name when writing a check (I'm old!). I would start spelling my name. Never failed to make me laugh.

I still mourn the loss of #ToysRUs; I didn't see the canary in the coal mine when we lost #KayBeeToys | #KBToys. I hope that somehow, some way, the concept of the #ToyStore comes back. But, not as a corporate monolith....but still. Somehow.
