What a cozy space! Do you like the kilns you have? I've only been able to talk to Skutt owners before, who are so married to the brand that they're unreliable for opinions. Yours are a nice size.

Penn tiles from village kilns around Penn Bucks in great demand 1332-1390 for high status buildings: eg 10,000 made for St George's Chapel Windsor.
Farmer-tilers pioneered new inlay technique + produced >170 designs, eg tongues out +lions.
Will they be in new London Museum this year?

Limited tickets, especially for the Quayside walk in April!

If you’re interested in local history, come along to one of our walks where we’ll take you to crumbling chapels, old lime kilns and dead houses. Absolutely everyone is welcome 💚

Quayside, Bothal and Wearside first.
Ticket warning! 🙌

Half the tickets left for each of the 3 tours we’re putting on in April, May and June. Each walk’s a one off, so once they’re gone they’re gone!

I’d be delighted to see you come along - fitness, history enthusiast, whoever you are!

then in high school the cement plant across the street started burning tires in their cement kilns for some reason and I called the local news and got in trouble at school.

The rate of people getting cancer under 30 from my graduating class is insane.

I already found a couple spots in the factory to stick a pair of the Recycli-kilns. They add some much needed variation, plus they shake around in a very lively manner. I love when the machines rattle around and belch out smoke and steam.

I love this Ming porcelain figure I came across at the Met five years ago today (2.8.21); this 17th c. censer comes from the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen; it's a #lùduān — a mythical beast that speaks every language in the world & appears during enlightened rule...
