Yeah, I was mid90s, but DC Talk, Michael W Smith, and Steven Curtis Chapman were all everywhere. And then Tooth and Nail happened kinda at the same time as I was discovering (secular) indie/punk/hardcore/etc. and it was basically aimed right at me.

I am a big fan of Jimmy Eat World and this also includes their very first self-titled LP nearly no one knows of. Though even the band doesn't like it anymore, to me it's still a great early/mid90s Punk Rock smasher. And it's not that far from the signature emo sound they created afterwards. 1/2

I'm watching Shinjuku Boys and it's great, but also, when Nyman wrote the score for The Piano, did he envision that trans women in sequined pasties and huge feathery headdresses were going to be performing to it in Tokyo mid90s queer clubs, because I did SUCH a double take on recognizing the music.
