A pair of Florida fern moths on a kitchen cupboard. The moths are mating. One is facing up, the other facing down. They have fuzzy brown bodies. The wings are spread out on both. The wings are a dark brown and when open the moth has a triangular shape. There is a white line going across the center and several white markings near the upper outer edge. There is also a thick white line at the bottom of each wing. The underwings appear grey. The head is tiny, but with long antennae reaching out to the sides. The female on the bottom of the photo is upside-down relative to the male and is also turned over, so it is viewed from the underside. It is mostly grey with white stripes across the body.

The moth is mostly an off-white color, but with a few yellowish lines crossing wings near its head and just below its abdomen. There is a thick grey line crossing near the bottom and another thinner brownish line under that. There are also two black dots near the edges of the wings over the middle line and two closer to the body under it. It has a very small head and antennae, which go out to the side.

A very furry moth in the genus Trosia. It flew through the rain and got some water in its eye so it looks like it’s crying 🌱

A moth on a stick. I picked it up on the stick to photograph it. The wings are covered in cream scales but the wings themselves are bright orange and they show just a bit among the scales. There is a line of black dots running from the middle of the wings diagonally towards the bottom tips. The thorax is covered in fur, cream with longer tufts of orange. It looks like a fancy cape a king might wear. The face is very furry and bright orange with black eyes and antennae. The legs are furry and bright orange close to the body and then black near the feet.
