Nondenominational sermons are really interesting. These joints sound like mixtape sermons. Compilation albums with no theme. Just the greatest hits. Like a DJ with terrible transitions.

Just wanted to jump in and say this connection makes me ecstatic to hear about, because while the “nondenominational” church I grew up in wasn’t as isolating as many others, “God presented as a weekly fix” is very familiar and relevant to me.

As someone who once attended a Southern Baptist church that wasn't actually affiliated with the SBC, this is 100% correct.
(And my own personal belief is that churches remain "nondenominational" is because the church leadership wants to keep more of their dough and not be told what to do with it.)

A local bapticostal “nondenominational” megachurch pastor— who openly decries democrats for being pro-life— called this post out on his Facebook page as racist and that there’s no place in Christianity for it. This has really put at least some of the MAGA base on their back foot.

Weird. Youtube suggested a video from @readytoharvest.bsky.social. I clicked through and watched one called "Exposing the Denominations of Nondenominational Churches" that has seemingly random examples from around the country, including the small rural Ohio Grace Brethren church my dad pastors.

That’s fascinating! I’ve seen plenty of Catholic ceremonies, one orthodox Jewish, and dozens of nondenominational, but I’ve never been to an Anglican/Episcopal wedding.
