Parliament, Rhenium (1990)

Didn’t get round to playing Osmium for #5debutalbums. Wish I had. This compilation is the majority of Osmium with three stellar substitutes.

3 in the green zone, and my other 2 in the white. I'm disappointed that more people aren't wowed by either Magnetic South or Osmium, but then I wasn't expecting them to make it.

Last one tonight for #5debutalbums7074. I like the Funkadelic debut better, but this one has some weird and amazing moments. #pfunk #johnsvinyl #nowplaying

Me like "Hey what if I got an osmium specimen, wouldn't that be cool, densest element, how much could it possibly c

There's a taste of musicals, parody and comedy in the Parliament album, which is utterly unlike the murky and groovy Funkadelic one.

Parliament - "Osmium"
1970

It's honestly insane that they debuted with both bands in the same year.

He gets so possessive and jelly, and yet is still denser than osmium. 🤦 #FateMate

My Dad loves the stuff - I prefer something lighter, like a nice chunk of osmium...

Week 44: This was the second comic idea I had. Just a quick doodle for the most part, all for a dumb joke I can't get out of my head.

Dems refuse to fold because millions of people will suffer. Reps refuse to compromise so that millions of people will suffer.

37% of US voters still think Trump and the GOP are doing a great job.

I can't comprehend how more than one-in-three people in this country are denser than fucking osmium.

I dreamt my parents brought me to a metallurgist and had an osmium sword made for me

On a scale of 1-10 on how dense I am / how well I can take a hint, I am about osmium dense

If it isn’t being told to me face I don’t know it 😭
Like this is about other things (;3) but also at work someone got mad at me because apparently they implied they wanted me to do something for them

Osmium ist 30-mal teurer als Gold. Weil das Material wegen seiner hohen Dichte auch deutlich schwerer als Gold ist, setzt aus orthopädischen Gründen bisher noch keine Monarchie auf Osmiumkronen.

Now I'm mad that Osmium doesn't exist in Dwarf Fortress (a gamer I'm currently obsessed with). Rarer than platinum, slightly more dense. My dwarves should have the option of making artifact weapons from Osmium!

Oh wait - there's a mod for that. NVM. Sweet. :-)

Reagents for synthetic chemistry have most of the advantages of (legal) drugs, but you wouldn't have to deal with the FDA.

Osmium tetroxide, for instance, retails for hundreds of dollars per gram.

76 is the atomic number of osmium.

like u say u need some osmium & he's like "sure! got some metal i can fuse?" then sticks some iron chunks in a little microwave door in his side, holds his breath for 10sec, then his vents stacks start glowing cyan and he perks up like "OK! done! :)" & opens it to give u a tiny cube of osmium

It would need 10-20 years of todays production to get enough osmium for a sword, and its oxidation product is so toxic, it would be an extreme danger for the wielder as well. Also, it mostly oxidizes when red hot, very deadly for the blacksmith. And brittle. Hit anything and it breaks.

Yep, denser than osmium, and not making any claims in good faith.

Got it.

You're just another fuckwit that thinks we can trust establishment Dems to rhetoric their way out of this, all the while they're beholden to the same oligarchs.
