Wow, how can people NOT know history... at all!! Embarrassing, how do they think all those Black people got there... since we are from Africa?? Not like there was a huge migration post slavery.

Yeah the Brits like to slide over the hundreds of years of enslavement (mistakes were made type bullshit) and then jabber endlessly about how they "manned the seas against slavery" post emancipation in the 1830s.

I’ve read many a post online about how it was the wonderful Americans who were the first to end slavery. Although they weren’t.

A reminder, while horrible, the Epstein criminal conspiracy is no where near the biggest child rape operation in this country's history.

That would be slavery.

Then there's any number of cults and religions that post some scary numbers when it comes to raping kids.

When was slavery really abolished in your country?

The Soviet Union promised equality, yet millions lived as state-bound peasants — a form of restored serfdom that lasted into the 1970s.

The MAGA were always here. They were chastened by progress and the employment discrimination laws until they were made to feel “post-racial” by their propagandists after Obama’s election victory.

They are the core of the rotten apple that is chattel slavery. Implicit & explicit racism is endemic.

1. Elgar'nan killed half the magisters by sapping their power. This leaves a power vacuum in Tevinter post-DAV.

The Shadow Dragons work to pack the gutted Magisterium with anti-slavery next-of-kin of the dead magisters. This involves finding the long-lost brother of lone elf magister Varania.

It's also a nightmare scenario because of how it's racialized. It's the incredibly-racist idea of "white slavery" that usually-apathetic Americans. This isn't just a thing happening to distant post-Soviet eastern-Europeans (who aren't honorary whites for the purposes of proxy conflict,) to Libyans.

Latest up at the #Southern #Graves blog. It's a short post that shows the southern dichotomy well: an #epitaph and #obituary praising #Christian devotion, alongside the reality that the same person directly participated in the profound #injustice of #slavery. >> tinyurl.com/23qep4vg

Thought about it while I was playing video games and this is a pretty normie "most woke" post. And too technocratic to boot.

My ACTUAL most woke opinion is that we owe reparations for slavery & Jim Crow to the descendants of slaves, and land reparations at least for indigenous tribes in the US.
Judgements against police should come out of liability insurance paid by the police themselves, just like people in the medical field have to have medical malpractice insurance.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Why read the h2g2 Post? Because it's people from one part of the planet explaining their local weirdness to people everywhere else. This week we find out what's on St Patrick's tombstone and what Shriners do at parades. Thank us later. h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/bru...

The American media made him president. That and the fact that we never dealt with post reconstruction continuation of slavery through our criminal system and looking the other way at racism and bigotry. Also we are a nation of misogynists. Also there are more billionaires: mentally ill and powerful

Reparations for slavery is a political non-starter, but there should be reparations for all the post-WW2 GI Bill benefits that were unfairly denied to African American vets. We should also promote the preservation of indigenous languages as much as possible.

Quick thought on Juneteenth. Isn't this awkward ? Like we're supposed to be celebrating the end of slavery, but we're still celebrating with the people that were enslaving us. And I just, I don't know what to make of it. Like it is so strange. And like, What do white people do on June teens ? What's the ask ? I don't even know. Like I don't even know how to tell them how to be an ally, because it's just it is the most awkward thing ever. Share, Believe, inspire, lax, be.

The federal government post the abolishment of slavery and Jim Crow has never been less credible than it is right now.

That includes Watergate because this admin is leaps and bounds beyond the corruption of Nixon.

You’re right and the post-slavery racist thread permeating the country remained alive and well, even for those who defended their country. Modern day, your point about Cheney/Halliburton/Iraq/Afghanistan confirms my point that we need Democrats in power to turn this effin’ aircraft carrier around.
