Digital art program journey?
➡ MS Paint
➡ Photoshop 5.5
➡ Photoshop Element 2 (I think it was 2?)
➡ Photoshop CS2
➡ Photoshop CS6
➡ Photoshop CC2018 (Light/Portable)
➡ Blender 2.8
➡ Blender 3.4
➡ Blender 3.6
I still use CC2018 to make some 3D alpha brushes. I have no reason to update Blender (yet)

Past me used a font and didn't take note of what that was AND she rasterized the layers so it's not like I can even click into the damn layer with the text tool to see.

PLEASE. I illustrate solely in CSP and can work with vectors, it's not an issue, but rasterized art cannot be turned into vector art later! I have to START in vectors!
I've only had this issue once and thankfully we caught it before the work was finished, so I didn't have to redo too much.

Reminder to everyone hiring an artist: If you need vector files delivered, that needs to be established up-front, before work starts. I cannot give you vector files because I do not work with vectors.

— No IDML export means that you're more tightly locked into Affinity than you would be into the Adobe suite.
Right now it looks like the only way to get a LOT of text out of Affinity is exporting to ePub, which will give you a bunch of HTML/XML. Exporting out to PSD gives you rasterized text.

why not go into the original image and use the original font/font colour? even if you rasterized the text layer it isn't hard to make shit match. I've done it before when updating info on an old ref sheet (hell, I do it every year so the age is right on my ref).

never talked about the tpot showing but i will now
the theatrics weren't that good actually?
the entire showing was in standard definition, which isn't a big deal. but i spent 75 dollars for me and a few people to go to a tpot showing and getting rasterized 4 in my face wasn't what i was expecting

Finally, if it were me doing this work, I would want to stick with voxelized worlds for procedural content, or rasterized for statically authored. Very small chance I pick SDF for static author too depending on game. Don’t be like me and only write engine code and never sims! Forever prototyping…

like I really dislike games that are 'pixel art style' rather than a 'drawn image that is rasterized to a specific standard due to hardware limitations'

Color prints get rasterized to a pattern that’s different from a pixel grid, too, which means higher dpis give you diminished returns (ink droplets can only go down to a certain size, and there’s color bleeding on lower quality paper).
Or in other words: 5k is likely fine for up to 25” long prints.

(i also just wanna waggle geometry to my whim) overcomplicated? maybe. i dont know. i dont want a rasterized thing i want to like. change its parameters dynamically to my whims and go ohhh looks good let me keep trying. kinda like vectors i guess but. auuu

i think it could be so interesting to either have a bizarre column by column, rasterized in first person text view, or to have descriptions of things your character can see which you can't.

This year, we’ve been working with a team of passionate, creative makers to put our open source respirator prototype manufacturing methods to the test. We’re so excited to be introducing you to a couple of them this week. In the meantime, here’s some background on what we’ve been up to: (1/4)

There are big time artists out there who don't even bother to hide they are painting over rasterized 3d models bc I was always confused how they could churn out fanart 2 hrs after a new gacha character was released.
Then I got decent enough to See.
This was before g-a-i btw.

Hi #mammal friends, are there any rasterized density maps for white tailed deer out there? Preferably with some historical data (ca. 1970 - present) as well? Many thanks!

So most of my graphics understanding comes from an end user artist perspective besides using processing one time for a homework assignment, I always thought that raster and vector graphics were totally separate things but am I correct that the pipeline means it's all vectors until it's rasterized??

You can say what you want, but the fact that I can play Cyberpunk with path tracing turned on at over 100 fps per second, is revolutionairy to me. I wasn't used to that. I was used to play it rasterized (and not so comfortably) with my old 3050 8GB. It opened up a new dimesion of gaming for me.
