The US paying Afghans to return to Taliban-controlled territory isn't 'repatriation incentives,' it's a strategic betrayal. Remember 1975 Saigon? The playbook for abandoning allies repeats. Follow @The_Piaz for real analysis. #Afghanistan

I just love the premise of repatriation theft. Also Uncharted another game I have to put on my list. I feel my laptop was outdated for so long I didn’t even bother checking out a lot of now famous games.

Kris Harrison murdered a British citizen.

So while you're correct we have no jurisdiction, it's hardly surprising that her family would request repatriation of her remains, or a coroner's verdict.

Why is the issue of Syrian prisoner repatriation from Lebanon complicated?
Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese and Syrian governments have reached a deal to repatriate about 300 Syrian inmates in Lebanese prisons back to their home country in a move that could pave the way for better relations between the two neighbours. The issue of Syrian prisoners in Lebanon has been a priority for Damascus since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024. Relations between the two countries have long been marked by what many Lebanese describe as nearly 30 years of occupation and a tutelage rule by Syria over Lebanon, which ended when Syria withdrew its troops in 2005.

I hear you.

I would imagine figuring out the process of repatriation is a strange on for a lot of reasons.

But I think it’s worth to explore it even if it’s a bit rocky at first.

The more humane solution is to empty these camps now via a repatriation policy i.e., pay governments to repatriate their own citizens, This has to be a much cheaper option and obviously much more humane solution.

New piece in Himal Southasian: I examine how Bangladesh’s election shapes the politics of Rohingya repatriation and why “return” has become more performance than solution.

Across parties, the camps are treated as a governance problem rather than a human one.

Very cool that another game about repatriation heists exists!

When I made Beutekunst it did cross my mind that a videogame with basically the same premise would be awesome, and now one has been made with an explicitly africanfuturist vision.

I'll have to check it out at some point.
