More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

That’s part of the Trumpist plan. No rule of law, just thuggery.

Many in The Big Apple are saying Let's fuckin' go Pats!
wore my throwback satin Patriots bomber to work today and some guy rolled down his truck window on 51st to yell “Let’s fuckin’ go Pats!” and that’s truly what living in New York is all about

This is what the rule of law looks like. Peaceful protest is protected. Retaliation by federal agents is not. A judge just put that in writing.

who knew that the constitution and rule of law were partisan issues?🤷🏻‍♂️

From @jfallows.bsky.social's newsletter this evening: "right now, today, we are living through the greatest threat to rule-of-law democracy since at least 1861."

"This has been obvious for the past year to all who have eyes to see, or who are willing to let their eyes do any seeing. But the last few days have provided especially clear instances of the assault on the rule of law."
We Have the King That Thomas Paine Feared
The rule of law was central to the American experiment. Is it still?

An assault on our democracy and the rule of law. Speaking out against what our government is doing is not a crime in America—not now, not ever.

I have a concrete suggestion in response to Trump and his gestapo’s “f**k you” to the rule of law: “Democratic senators and representatives should be flying to Minnesota now and standing together in a show of force and solidarity.”

Donald Trump Hates America
He shows it with his middle finger, literally, and by his daily attacks against American interests and our people. He must be defeated.

if the rule of law doesn't matter then you have no obligation to follow the law

President Trump is once again threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act, this time in Minneapolis. That would be a flagrant and particularly dangerous abuse of the Act—one that would threaten the rule of law and public safety alike. 1/13

First of all, understand the Insurrection Act is *not* martial law. Martial law doesn't really have an actual definition, but it's essentially the idea of temporarily replacing a civilian government with military rule. And POTUS *does not* have the authority to declare martial law.

America's heritage is the rule of law that no man, none, not one never is above the law that immigrants from all over came to get a dream and worked hard paid taxes to uncle Sam and raised their family living the way they wanted prayed how they want to whom they want where we the people have rights
January 15, 2026 at 6:38 PM
And right on cue, Trump threatens to invoke the Insurrection Act. Trump and Stephen Miller are deliberately trying to cause the rule of law and civil order to collapse in Minnesota for a reason. This is that reason.

That is not “law enforcement,” that is a criminal assault.

We will need to have Nuremberg-style trials if we can restore the republic and the rule of law.

Why? A fascist regime controlled by a madman and a cabal of oligarchs, self-induced inflation, erosion of the rule of law, rampant corruption, daily mass shootings, unaffordable healthcare, childcare, any kind of care…what’s not to like about us?

Orson Welles had a whole thing on how Prohibition eroded any idea of trust in rule of law or government cause everyone was made into a criminal overnight
It always amuses me how many cartoons there were about getting drunk made during Prohibition.

Co-equal branches of government were meant for a constitutional republic built on rule of law…not an authoritarian oligarchy run by pedophiles and criminals.

If your concern is the rule of law, you should support amnesty for illegal immigrants, so as to avoid the creation of a permanent underclass that is alienated from the protections of law
Also no one ACTUALLY cares about immigration enforcement for general rule-of-law reasons. If your interest is in the rule of law, you wouldn't come up with immigration as an area of concern in a hundred years
