#thatchers
I want a labour party that isn't the Tory party with a red tie. Labour is further right than thatchers cabinet. Kinnock started the rot and Blair/Starmer have carried the torch. Be it mandelson, streeting, palantair or Fujitsu unfortunately labour sides with corruption and big business instead of

@matthew-wright.bsky.social I nearly swore out loud on the bus this morning when you reminded me of the 50% cuts to council funding. I generally have that reaction when I also hear Thatchers name, isn’t it funny how the right wingers change the subject when it’s brought up. 🤔

We both lived thru Thatcher, I was an older teenager during the miners strike, I remember the horrors. I remember the hardship caused by Thatchers economics, 15% mortgage interest etc. Never thought it could happen again.
Starmer has sold out all who voted for him in hope.

I grew up in the 1970's & 80's in that part of Manchester & my generations parents were mostly skilled working class working for the engineering behemoths Ferranti & Simon engineering. Thatchers 1980's economic policies put paid to most of that type of work & created a generation of depression.

When you have been crawling around on the forest floor as a child trying to gather enough firewood so that you and your family can stay warm that evening not by choice but by the consequences of thatchers policy. And you know that you may be hungry until a free school meal... That was Thatcher.

Thatchers sell of was the single greatest transfer of national resources to private wealth and capitalists, leaving us, the people, in the hands of rabid profiteers. Neo liberal economics has reduced us to the serfs of profiteers who don't give a shit about us! Redistribute wealth NOW!

I only have to hear the first few bars of ghost town and I'm right back in the shit of Thatchers first term. Brill band.

Perhaps they could be called something like 'rootless cosmopolitans'.. anyway Al, it's all Thatchers fault, on that we agree.. 😎

We're too far away for weekend getaways - it's a 4 hr drive for us - so we'd took a lot of vacations there. Koomer is pretty basic for a campground but there are nice hikes going right out of it and it's a great location for everything else. Haven't done Thatchers but we hit Miguels often.

My head is struggling to multi-task all this sport 😬
TV one end of room rugby (Italy currently winning), TV other end cricket (what is going on with India???), Olympics on phone; Nurofen and Thatchers on standby 🏉🏏🏂🍻

The thing that is really grinding my gears this particular evening re Mandelson is thinking of how May Blairs, Browns, Thatchers and Churchills our country has been deprived of in favour of those like Mandelson because it never occurred to them it was an option or they were too busy raising children

This is the philosophy that had some left wingers cheering Thatchers election, because they could take control of the party and then government when she was inevitably defeated in the 1983 election.

The only waste is the money that is trousered tax free overseas by companies that provide services to councils, particularly in the care services. Thatchers privatisation fetishism only improved things for shady hedge funds, private equity firms and dodgy shell companies.

Thatcher! However she conveniently thought about society, when her spoilt brat son Mark, got lost in the desert. Bet the ‘society’ of taxpayers paid for the search and rescue for him, doubtful that the Thatchers paid for that.

They could start by removing all their funds from oligarch controlled markets.
This all started with Thatchers Reagan obsession, American influence, corruption 'Big Bang', now this honey trap blackmail.
UK (and other governments) have no control over their own finances.
Time to kill the markets.

„Eigenverantwortung und Freiheit“ das ist dasselbe wie Thatchers „there‘s no such thing as society“. Aber bei der nächsten Gelegenheit springt die AfD-Sympathisantin wieder in Ostfriesland vor die Kamera, um sich volksnah zu geben und „sich zu kümmern“.

That’s because the Met is full of Tories. Thatchers stormtroopers.
