Still all in on this TBH.

I am not an ostrich. AI obviously is having a material impact on a few sectors of the economy, but it's going to take more than a breathless blog post by someone who WORKS FOR AN AI START-UP to make me go full Butlerian Jihad.

This is not serious analysis!

I find this infuriating - because it is always implicitly assumed that everything is like coding.

The biggest jobs in the UK are:
1. Retail
2. Health & social care
3. Education
4. Construction
5. Manufacturing.

UK has lost its official status as a country that has achieved elimination of measles, as vaccination rates have fallen below the 95% required to achieve herd immunity. So sad, and likely due vaccine misinformation. If you haven't already, get your kids vaccinated ASAP. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Struck me about two-thirds of the way through the piece that this is an interview positioning for a leadership bid, from someone I'd actually assumed had given up on a political career.

He is also factually wrong! His entire world view is downstream of someone at Davos getting a factoid incorrect, that should be covered as "rich man loses touch with reality."
dear media, Jim Ratcliffe’s far-right language does not mean it’s a green light for a phone-in asking ‘is he right?’ it’s the moment to call out his use of far-right language

It's just one of those things in politics that's very interesting where frontliners are usually House R Leadership's strongest soldiers while Democratic frontliners often keep House D leadership at arm's length (or at least need to be seen as keeping them at arm's length)

No one's going to like this but the UK TV licence fee really is a stupid concept. Presuming you accept the notion that public broadcasting /needs/ a hypothecated stream of income there is really a much more normal way of doing it and it is just reserving a percentage of your taxes.

Right, but if you strip out the hyperbole it's just "the public are angry about the cost of living, immigration and the NHS and don't particularly understand any of them" which, sure, but what do I do with that?
You may not like it, but strip out the hyperbole and abuse and it's quite hard to argue with this Cummings asssessment of the public mood
