I love the control scheme of twinsticks but I really don't play enough of them. Still, I really enjoyed my time with AAC both times I've played it! The sorta "chibi industrial" style with sharp bullet patterns was charming the whole way through.

I love the Spooky chapter but the archaic controls to aim/shoot the gun is difficult to play when you've been spoilt by twinsticks and shoulder buttons.

Wasn't aware that the NES port of Smash TV let you use two NES gamepads held vertically to approximate twinsticks controls, making it essentialy a precurser to split joycons.
(Surprised the phrasing on the box art advertising this feature made it to release, though)

In Vortex Breakers, you don't dodge bullets, but block them from hitting the special crystal you're protecting, which then becomes energy for special abilities.

imo, better than diablo. twinsticks on controller, bosses feel better, and the char builds are incredibly (intimidatingly almost) deep. diablo does have probably the better overall polish when it comes to the graphics/art but.. poe is incredible. $30 early access is worth it or ftp is a steal.

Is the top one the Tanita ones for the re-release? Wanted one of those at some point lol.
I'm also just tempted to wire up one of my twinsticks with a Pico board so I can hook it up to my PC, but that would involve sacrificing them when they actually both work with my modded Dreamcast lol.

I DO love me some GameCube button layout and while I acknowledge the Wavebird walked so the Dualshock Twinsticks could run, I am BEGGING Nintendo to come out with one fucking controller that has comfortable and well placed thumb sticks that don't break 😭

the thing that made me sad was when they made an ultra-hardcore twinstick with no saves and it did poorly, and they went "clearly no one wants our twinsticks" when their much easier twinsticks (like dead nation) sold better. they went "we're doubling down on hardcore" and that hasn't helped them :(

Yeah I think so. The camera and movement would favor the twinsticks of controllers. Just need to figure out the best way of selecting your spells.

It's still pretty good, and the English cast is particularly impressive in the localization. I wish somebody would create a fanhack that supports the DC Twinsticks though.

It's random game Saturday - this time we have Alien Resurrection, a game that was maligned in reviews for it's "terrible" controls: twinsticks for an fps. It set the standard for the modern console fps (though similar controls had been tried in the mid-late 90s). review clip is from gamespot
