Yep, I'm sick and tired of ignorance being an ok reason to hammer weather forecasters, it's a so unfair.
euanritchie.bsky.social
Funnily enough, Ali didn't address those issues to give context to her segment. Really, really poor.
euanritchie.bsky.social
Exactly, but you wouldn't have known it the way Ali's segment was packaged, terrible stuff.

What a disgrace @senatorwong.bsky.social is. This country is so utterly cooked.

if only @senatorwong.bsky.social had any shred of credibility left after 24 months of 'grave concern' over the livestreamed genocide of Palestinians

meanwhile, PM @albomp.bsky.social👇

It’s all part of #TheirABC propaganda. Of course Ali mentioned they were decimated of expertise during #Morrison #government and that the #ClimateCatastrophe has changed weather patterns so their old models no longer work. #auspol we need to monitor our weather more than ever. #auspol

Disgraceful letting Ryan Milgate put the boot into the BOM without Ali Moore on 774 ABC stating how many times they DO get it right. It's an incredibly complex task to predict the weather, especially rainfall, reliably. A little more homework and respect wouldn't go astray, Ali.

Yep, he can reside in the bilge where he belongs.

This was an amazing, powerful and sobering meeting. Proud to have been a part of it. www.facebook.com/share/r/1DVi...

Residents of the North, and the North's ecosystems and wildlife, are being sacrificed for corporate fossil fuel profits.

Scitech (WA Science Museum) is sponsored by a few fossil fuel companies. Including Woodside who provide "free" access to STEM club for kids.

Free = access to educational opportunities in exchange for promoting Woodside. The cost to students is the loss of a liveable planet.

Good deal kids?
Screen shot of scitech website with their logo at top and text that reads:
"More Information

Through the support of Woodside, this program is provided for free* over the course of a Term to select schools, and is available for delivery to primary schools in the Perth metro region. Schools will need to provide a staff member to enthusiastically support the program.

*A $500 refundable deposit is required for delivery of this program."
Last line is struck out in red pen replaced with the text:
"* Program provided at no charge in exchange for promoting climate criminal Woodside. Cost to students includes the loss of a liveable planet."

Could the National Press Club be less embarrassing and less complicit in the genocide of Palestine/the West's decline into overt fascism, pretty, pretty, pretty please? 🙏 Cancelling Chris Hedges' talk on the betrayal of Palestinian journalists only proves his point. Truly, truly pathetic

A lovely story about Dr Jane Goodall's career & legacy, from Rachel Fieldhouse & Mohana Basu, in @nature.com www.nature.com/articles/d41.... Includes some comments from me about how researchers _can also_ be advocates and science communicators, and still be taken seriously (I hope)!
